You already heard about the fame of Persian Carpets, and I had some great experiences while I was exploring Grand Bazaar in Tehran. One of the shop owners invited me for a shop tour and I ended up learning about 20,000 USD carpet which is a big treasure for the shop and probably for the whole bazaar.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the language you speak is not Azari, but Turkish. Azari is a pure Persianate language, and is nearly extinct as a language, while the Turkish that you speak was the language of the Turkic invaders of the land of Persia from the Mongols on. The writer, Kassravi has a book on the origins of the Azari language.

Great videos but please do not spread misinformation. Baku seperated from Iran after the turkmenchai treaty with russia and it's simply a province of Iran. We are all iranians and azerbaijan (Baku) is not a seperate nationality. I know that the baku government is trying to create misinformation and fake history but please read a few history books and inform yourself. Thanks from Tabriz. Saghul

Mr Davud, you are very welcome in Iran. You are a nice and polite guy and I like your videos and watching them all and I am sure you not insulting Iranians on purpose. But please read a bit about history of Republic of Azerbaijan. I am not sure what you being taught in Republic of Azerbaijan. There is nothing like North Azerbaijan was the mainland and South Azerbaijan separated from the mainland. Azerbaijan was always part of Iran and 200 years ago part of it got occupied by Russians and eventually became Republic of Azerbaijan. You will see lots of similarities in many aspects between Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan for the exact reason. Time passed and most Iranians not claiming that piece of land and we expect the same in return. If we want to go back in time, Iranians should claim part of lots of countries. But if this friction continues and I am sure people have a big role, I will not be surprised a war happens between Iran and Azerbaijan one day and you can easily guess who will be damaged in this war significantly more. I think we need to learn a lesson from history and prevent something like this from happening. Ukraine and Russia war is right in front of us.

Being Iranian is not specifically having one mother tongue, it's the shared culture and history with is called Iranian. Politically Iran has it's boarders in one country but culturally it's 3 times bigger than Iran and beings Iranian doesn't have to mean you have persian as mother tongue while Iranian culture includes alot of persian in it. You can be from afghanistan or azerbaijan and you are Iranian aswell ,there is no difference.

Flying carpets - absolutely love this series. If anyone knows how to deal with moths and hand -made carpets please let me know. Lavender isnt seem to be working. Bloomin moths have destroyed so many of my wool handmade carpets. Iran seems super safe as well. Normally I'm like ooh how did Davud get out of that predicament, especially when he goes into dark alleyways and a huge no no with the taxi sharing this - accidentally did it Dubai once, real bad idea.. But Iran looks like real easy for women travellers plus i think Farsi is more easier to pick-up than Turkish. Many thanks for this series Davud.

I'm also getting a lesson on iran's ethnic diversity. Ignorant me only really knew Iran as speaking Persian and with a Kurdish minority population. Didn't realise about all the other groups - approx 16% Azerbaijan. Iran must be a pretty tolerant place then with all these ethnic groups. A pity the Western media never portrays this side - only positive programme I 've seen is about pomegranate gathering. Moreover if you do go and visit Iran, they eye your passport suspiciously thereafter. Gosh ive been so impressed with how conventionally safe Iran looks that i'm quite drawn to going there on hols now. It' s great for food, shopping and just want to see what the historical sites are like now.

Iran is one of the most tolerant country in the Middle-East. Turks used Ottoman Sunni Kurdish tribes to genocide Armenians in cross-border raids in Iran (Salmas/Khoy near Lake Urmia), it was Iranian Azerbaijanis who protected Armenians from the Ottomans. Now that Sunni Kurds in Turkey made peace with Armenians, Turkey needed to use another group against Armenians and sadly they chose Azerbaijanis from Baku/Republic of Azerbaijan. Republic of Azerbaijan is a victim of Ottoman/Turkey & Russia geopolitics just like Armenia. I hope that one day the Republic of Azerbaijan make peace with Armenians like their ancestors and drop the racist Turanist Turkish-supremacist ideology funded from Turkey. The Baku authoritarian regime needs to make Armenians in Karabagh feel safe and not threatened by this disgusting ugly fascist ideology with an agreement indigenous Armenians in Karabagh don't seek separation. Baku authoritarian regime needs to also make peace with their Iranian brothers and ancestors (especially Azeri Iranians).

@@freejay3 Aah I think you need to check out the dictionary on the definition of what stealing actually constitutes before insulting Iran and it’s democratic elected leaders. Even our UK newspapers report about Israeli land grabbing - in our back yard that is what is constitutes stealing. Go and question Israel why is that?

Here in Europe it is veryyyyy expensive! I hope the people who made these carpets also get paid very well! Sir Davud we live in such demonic life, being corrupt, dishonest and getting rich because of the poor is soooooo low!! May Allah/God Bless You and All the Good people in Iran! With the most regards, rosa margriet Holland

i doubt that the weavers get paid very much . if i were to buy a carpet , iwould go directly to the weaver and have them make a special order with the colors and design i want and i would give them ALL of the money . not one penny to dealer .

In the past a friend and i were in Tunesia on vacation in the capital.... Tunis! We went also for an carpet tour! It was very shocking to see some women sitting on the ground in front of them...there was an huge mountain full of camel hair it came until the seeling...they were spinning the camel hair into knitting (dont know the word, in Holland we say..naaigaren)! It tooks these lady s years to make such beautifull carpets...and they were sell to the rich country...but i could not noticed if they paid these ladies good money!!! Because the clothing they were was really cheap. ! hope ..now we living in 2023, the circumstances for these women are changed for the better! May Allah/Gods Blessings rains daily upon these talented and hard working carpet making women! That they may Prosper in finance, education, health and happiness!!!!

I think you learn something completely different in school in the history lesson... there is no such thing as North and South Azerbaijan... The name of Azerbaijan was given by the Russians to the areas north of Aras and the names of Aran and Shirvan were removed from there. 40 million was also funny...please think before you speak

Mr Akhundzada you are ambassador of love , not spreader of dark propaganda . No need to repeat Aliev's propaganda about 40 millions Turks living in Iran while you have no provement. Though our ambassador is just another agent from fake Azerbaijan...

2:00 You claim that there are forty million Azaris living in Iran. Please stop spreading this kind of nonsense and misinformation. By Azaris you probably mean Turkish speaking people like yourself, because what you speak is Turkish, rooted in Mongolian, and not Azari, which is a near extinct Persianate language. In addition, you dare to say that north Azarbaijan is the main part of Azarbaijan, while south Azarbaijan, in Iran, would logically be secondary. Unless you are playing dumb, you should know that there is only one province of Azarbaijan, located to the south of the River Araxis or Arass, and all within the present day Iranian border. Historically, what you wrongly call the republic of Azerbaijan was called Aran and Shirvan, all parts of Persia, up to Georgia.

do you really not know the history of your own land how it separated from iran in the treaty of turkemenchay…in reality the state of azerbaijan is a separated province of iran…we have family members in baku … i hope one day baku returns to its mother iran ….also the azeri population of iran is closer to 20 million max not 40…the total population if iran is 80 million so 40 million makes no sense and is impossible… you are fed false information in the state of azerbaijan .
