India's problem is similar to most Asian countries, wealthy elite class extreme poverty low class with not much middle class. That is what most countries face including the USA, progressive politions, companies who want too eliminate a large section of middle class citizens. This has been an ongoing threat here in US for 30+ yrs. China realizes this in their country and the negative consequences of the middle/lower class teaming up an uprising to the CCP/PLA. America with Trump is also recognizing the challenges with the Democrats who are now the hard left, Reds. Our founders such as Andrew Jackson warned us this was possible: enemies from within may kill America before the enemies outside. We'll see.

Actually, why does everyone talking about the rivalry between India and China? Is it necessary? To put some simple perspective, I don't think that China will want to occupy/attack India, and India definitely will not be able to physically invade China (right now). It makes more sense for the 2 giants in Asia to work together, cooperate together. China and India may have had some border disputes that hasn't been solved, but in the grand scheme of things, will China want India to go down the toilet? No! In fact, it is in China's interest that India is peaceful, prosperous and stable. Why? Because India will become China's largest and most important trading partner soon! It is so clear! India has a 1.4B population, China has a 1.5B population, together, India and China can control more than 35% of the world's economy and GDP output! It is possible! I can't wait for the day where India and China economies are the no.1 and no.2 in the world! These 2 are the world's oldest civilizations and cultures on planet Earth. From a Singaporean's perspective, I see many exciting and happy developments if India and China work together and trust each other. South-Asia will be prosperous, South-East Asia (Where I am at) will be prosperous and even the Middle-East will also be prosperous if everyone can work together..... Am I the only one who is excited to see this possibility? When I see this, I think the nations that will lose out, are USA and Europe. Now, it makes sense that these countries will try to meddle and muddle things up, isn't it? If you can't join them, disrupt them!

Agreed. the high mountain of Himalayas is a natural boundary between india and China, who neither be able to nor be interested to conquer each other. current border disputes are historical issues from colonial times created and left by the British who also made countless problems all over the world, including Palestinian and Israel issues. I see no reason India and China cannot work together for the greater good for their ppl.

@davidzhang62304 жыл бұрын
@Sensei Hooplah thanks for the explanations of historical context of the division in the india subcontinent. another hot issue left by the British colonial powers. I think leaders have to take tough measures to overcome difficulties from domestic nationalism and radical religious minds, anyway, geopolitical games won't bring prosperity. only economic growth and stability is in everyone's favor. and to my limited knowledge about south asia and the religious system here, if Muslims and Hindus can live together in india, there must be a way for people in India and Pakistan to solve the post colonial issues. it's only a wish though, and sadly, among the three neighboring countries, geopolitical games will keep on going, as all leaders need nationalism to get support and votes.

I only wish that China had taken over the Chabahar Port early on when India turned it into a one-year, one-block type of project. That truly would have knee-capped India altogether. I'm Chinese.I don't understand why Indians are always confident. Tibet was Chinese territory during the Qing Dynasty.India tried to invade Tibet during the Chinese civil war and still occupies southern Tibet.China has been patient.China calls for maintaining the Line of Actual Control and resolving territorial issues through negotiations. India refuses to negotiate, adopts a forward policy and continues to invade Chinese territory. China taught India a lesson in 1962.But it did not invade any Indian territory and quickly withdrew its line of Actual Control (LAC). Now, India is still advancing and dozens of Indian soldiers have been killed. Modi told you that Chinese did not invade Indian territory.The meaning is clear enough.It was your Indian soldiers who invaded Chinese territory and were killed. The most ridiculous territorial basis of The Indians is the McMahon line drawn by the British, which has never been recognized by China.The British and Indians never ruled those areas either. There is a limit to what the Chinese can tolerate and India should not humiliate itself any more. Indians often say that China is an intruder.India was actually the aggressor, annexing Sikkim, controlling Bhutan and Sri Lanka, and invading Nepal.Against Pakistan.It still occupies the southern Part of Tibet.That's what indians call the Northeast

Why should India cry over spilled milk now? India chooses to fear US sanctions more than it fears the collapse of its own strategic interests in Iran and Afghanistan. Iran has been patient waiting for India's timely construction of the railroad line according to schedule, but India slows down out of fear of US sanction. Iran now impatient, no longer trusts India, and invites China in and China does not fear US. America's sanctions threats against India (and everybody else that trade with Iran) is to serve America's interests, not India's interests, but India chooses to serve not its own interests but America's interests. And here we are. I won't be surprised eventually China will bring in Pakistan into Iran make it merrier, and India will bite the dust.
