I know ....we are like sponges. I woke up feeling very anxious "out of the blue" on Sunday and that afternoon, iron dome shot down missiles over my head on the coast (Israel.) It's a mixed blessing to be connected. I personally would refrain from such terms as "civil war." There is a lot of polarisation in many countries but taking up arms is a different level. Yes, the CIA has done a lot of meddling in other countries. Some of it beneficial but certainly not all ....
