As an Iraqi, I believe that it is the most insane, stupid, and brutal war ever. It was a real hell. This war destroyed our souls. This tragedy cannot be described. It was slow and brutal, and the numbers of victims are much more than this. We were fighting, but we did not know why. We were young men at the age of 18. Saddam sent us to this massive holocaust. We lost the best days of our youth. Until now, I do not know what we were fighting for. All the reasons seem stupid and ridiculous and not worth all that blood on both sides. Damn me. Saddam was stupid and arrogant. He thought himself a great leader. In the end, he told us that we had won!!!! For what and for what I do not know. We did not emerge from this war except with nightmares and constant sadness.

I am an Iranian, my father was in the war, he says that in the beginning of the war, we defended ourselves with stones and sticks, until later they gave us weapons, while they hit us with tanks and chemical weapons. My father is still suffering from war injuries at the age of 60

Same, I lost several relatives and my father was also involved in defending Iran and its people from foreign invaders and separatist insurgents. During the war he was exposed to chemical agents that we later learned Iraqi forces obtained with the aid from countless countries worldwide, most notably U.S, UK, Saudi Arabia, China, USSR, several other European countries etc. 😢 Let's also not forget that this heinous and tragic war would never have happened if it weren't for the bloodthirsty islamist seize of power during the devolution of 1979 and what ensued! The pain, humiliation and suffering has been ongoing ever since... 😔🖤

Bro, It seems you're Iraqi. I'm Iranian. On this side, the same thing happened to my uncle and my grandmother. He died in this war in 1986, but my grandmother used to wait for him for 24 years. She couldn't accept his son's death. She hoped my uncle was captured or living in Iraq. But she died from Alzheimer's in 2010... after 37 years, they brought his bones home. 14 years after my Gmother death. A big funeral was held here too.

I'm Kurdish. My grandfather served in that ruthless war and let me tell you something, it is more brutal than anything can portray it. He is very fortunate enough to survive, he has scars all over his legs - though most of the other men with him (and yes most) never survived. He recalled how his 120 group men (whom were responsible for artillery) had half of its men killed besides the injured. They barely had any food or supplies when they were sent to the battle grounds. Their equipments were faulty and most never were able to go back home. He always reminds us that war is not to be glorified nor to forget the souls lost in war.. This truly is unlike any war, and unfortunately, many many young men in the tens of thousands had their lives cut short because of it. Never assume any war has winners or losers, may the lost souls rest in eternal heaven.

Abdülhamid’i tahttan indiren sözde “İttihatçılar” idi. Selanik’in ehlinin hangi ırka mensup olduğunu araştır. Sonra Cumhuriyet döneminde nasıl camilerin ahıra çevrildiğini yada nasıl müslümanların asıldığını bak. II.

Al-Salamun Aleykum, let me tell you this, I was also curious and I asked a lot. Praise be to Allah, he guided me to the right path. Those responsible for the events that have occurred in the world for the last 350 years are the same sect. The so-called "French" Revolution, Wilhelm's invasion of England, Marxism, the colonization of China and the Opium wars, the war against the shogunate in Japan... A sect that invaded the whole world, in our country (Ottoman Empire) it was based in Thessaloniki. It was the so-called "Unionists" who dethroned II. Abdulhamid. Find out what race the people of Thessaloniki belong to. Then look at how mosques were turned into stables or how Muslims were hanged during the Republic period. In World War II, it was actually a movement supported by this party that wanted to overthrow Stalin, and Stalin expelled the Leninists in the Great Purge. The name of the people who do what I say is Edom. Edom comes from Esau, the two sons of the prophet Isaac (the other son is Jacob). After the Jews conquered them, they started to live like them. When the Gokturk Khaganate collapsed, the Khazars, one of the Onoghurs, emerged as its successors. The Edomites later migrated among the Khazars. There is the Schechter Letter, which explains how the Khazars began to live like the Edomites, I suggest you read it, then there is Hashdai ibn Sharput's correspondence with the Khazars. These Edomites married the Khazars. The group called Ashkenazi Jews today comes from here. If you look, they have white skin and red hair. Esau was also reddish when he was born.

As an Iraqi whose father already fought this war, many of us did not want the war break out. My father was forced to join the fight against his will; he tried to do his best in order not to target Iranian soldiers. But he once targeted a group of soldiers with a shell and it was a precise hit; the shell fell in the middle of that group. He said i don't know what happened to them after that. Sadam would usually persecute whoever rejects joining the battle or he leaves it behind. Most importantly, both sides today acknowledged that it was a terrible and useless war; many of them died for nothing.

I'm Iraqi, I was a child at the time of war. I remember the pain and suffering of people, mothers and the whole society at that time. Today, I believe that wars are the most horrible action could happen to any nation. Those who promote for wars or want to be part of it, they never tested the pain. it is very easy for any normal family to end up with widows and orphans in one day. it is a politician's decision, but the suffering of generations.

My grandfather, my uncles, and my father participated in this war, and my uncle was in the front line of the war. He said that the Iranians were 100 meters away from us, and these Iranians did not have any thought or creativity in the war, that is, they did not know how to fight in the first years, but with the passage of time, the level of the army rose. The Iranians were able to advance on Iraq, but the number of the Iraqi army and units increased, which led to stopping the Iranian army’s attack, and also in the north of Iraq, as you can see, they are blue. These are the Kurdish forces of Besh Marka, against whom Saddam took revenge in 1988 and also in 1991. He attacked them with chemical missiles and mobilized. The Iraqi army is against them because they killed 3 soldiers from the Iraqi army, and Saddam killed more than 10,000 citizens, including them, but this war ended in vain. About a million and a half people died in this war, and 500,000 were from Iraq and 750,000 were from Iran.

It's definitely not the type of war video what you can't follow if you blink... My Hungarian grandparents lived in Iraq between 1979-1981, they left the country due to the war. They often sat in their apartment's bathtub in the bathroom during attacks on the city of Baghdad, but I still don't get this idea and how it was supposed to be safe. Can somebody please explain it to me?
