Is there a history to this building? Obviously it is not Safavid anymore. What happend to the Safavid pavilion there? Pls explain. Are there any barberries/Zereshk trees in the garden there?

Abdul Mahdi Rajaee- In Isfahan, among the gardens that were built by the order of Shah Abbas on the axis of Chaharbagh Abbasi and Chaharbagh Bala, Zarshak Garden is perhaps the most famous. Many materials have been published about the destruction of historical buildings and structures by the hand and command of Zalul Sultan. The article that I recently saw in the book "Tales of Fifty Years" written by Moezuddin Mahdavi was new to me, that this man did not spare even private buildings left over from Safavid era, and he did not keep away from his ax the Kholafrangi mansion inside Zarshek Garden, which was a private property. . Moazuddin Mahdavi mentions in his memoirs: "My father said that this garden was my property, and in the middle of it there was a very beautiful and dignified mansion from the Safavid era (like the Hasht Behesht mansion but smaller) where I spent Fridays and sometimes invited friends. One day Zal al-Sultan asked for me. By the way, there was a time when he was destroying Safavid buildings. I went to meet him. He said, "Destroy the Zarshek Garden building!" Since this was not practical for me, I said: "It is a small building and it cannot be taken into consideration next to other buildings that have been destroyed." He said that they were so and so... In any case, the assembly passed and I did not agree to demolish the place. When I returned home, I saw the gardener of Zarshek garden in front of the house, who informed me that the agents of Zal al-Sultan had come and were going to demolish the building. I said that I do not have the ability to resist Zal al-Sultan. Go see what they do next and let me know. In the evening, the gardener came and reported that they destroyed the mansion and left without taking anything from it." (Mahdavi, 1348: 63) After constitutionalism and on a date we don't know, Zarshak Garden became the property of Amir Mojahid Bakhtiari. Perhaps he had repaired the ruined mansion in the middle and given it a clean look when in 1317 when Tagore, an Indian philosopher and poet, traveled to Iran, the government preferred to let him live there. Nasrullah Saifpour Fatemi, who was his guest, says: "In Isfahan, Tagore and his companions were accommodated in the garden of Amir Mujahid Bakhtiari's house, which was in the hands of the government, near the bridge of Zayandehrud." (Sifpour Fatemi, Ayane Ebrat. p. 829) But fate had written a destiny for this garden to become an industrial garden. This means that the wool industry factory will finally be established there. A part of the article of Akhgar newspaper on the history of the mentioned factory: "This factory, whose company was formed at the end of 1314 with a capital of 6 million ralts and a year later another 3 million ralts was added to its initial capital, since 1315 its machinery was gradually brought to Isfahan and in 1316 it was used by the company as well. They were installed, and in the middle of 1317, the installation of most of them was finished, and from the first month of the same year, the spinning part started to work again, and even though it did not work in one post and the cotton did not reach according to its consumption, a large number of yarns were produced daily. , which is one of the first-class types of strings in the country, he used to produce and sell in the market of Isfahan and other cities of Iran... Now the fabrics of this factory are considered among the best products of factories in Isfahan. (Akhgar newspaper, No. 1441, July 7, 1318.) Undoubtedly, the last leaf from the life book of the barberry garden is not very pleasant. After the transfer of the wool industry factory on a date that I don't know, the land of this factory was turned into apartments, and only two things remain of that old glory, which we hope will not fall to the ax of ignorance: first, the headroom that belongs to the time of the industry factory It was Pashm with a large and wooden door, decorated with beautiful engravings of the factory logo and the second office part of the factory, which is currently the secretariat of the Isfahan city council, a very beautiful building with the architecture of the first Pahlavi period and impressive interior decorations.
