I believe Iran is an incredible destination for tourists, where people are genuinely caring and always willing to help foreigners. The absence of scammers and the warm hospitality make it even more appealing. With its rich history, countless cultural landmarks, and a diverse array of delicious cuisine, there’s so much to explore. Plus, everything comes at a very affordable price, making Iran a perfect spot for travelers looking for an unforgettable experience. ❤️ 🇮🇷

Yes, the real Iran is NOT shown on the Western media. By cultural default majority of the people are very kind and not pushy. So if you go a Bazaar, unlike other countries the shopkeepers don't push you to buy anything and respect your choices. To most Iranians is very important that foreign tourists enjoy their safe stay and they often invite tourists to their homes for lunch or dinner, they are interested to learn about the tourists and their stories, just like tourists that are interested i other cultures and how Iranians live their lives. Iranians generally have a very positive impression of Sweden and Swedish people.

I lived the first 15 years of my life in Kerman and your videos brought back so many nostalgic memories that I have tears in my eyes. Thank you for this journey down memory lane in a less-traveled part of Iran: my beautiful province of Kerman. I remember going to the Mahan garden (Prince's garden) on weekends with my family to have a picnic and walk around. At dusk and during sunset, that place is one of the most magical places I have ever been. You can see the reflection of the sun and the palace in the pond while the tall trees shield you form the desert heat, and people are just walking around enjoying a relaxing weekend while children run around and play. I remember going to Bam citadel once when I was a kid, only a few years before that terrible earthquake. I remember the earthquake like it was yesterday, I remember my dad and I hudding under the arch of a door to protect us from falling bricks in case our house collapsed (luckily it didn't). Everyone in Kerman still gets very sad about that earthquake; many people died and most of the citadel was destroyed. But it's also a beacon of hope for us: we stayed resilient and rebuilt our cities and the citadel and people from all around the world came to help! The rebuilding, however, was not perfect, and a proper responsible government who cared for its people would have done a better job. I remember driving through those vast sandy plains with my family en route to a cooler picnic location in higher altitudes, sometimes stopping under the shades of those lone trees to enjoy a cup of hot tea (still don't understand why we drink hot tea in the hottest province of Iran, but some habits are here to stay I suppose). Kerman is a hidden gem, most of it is very dry and barren, but if you know where to go, you can find gorgeous mountain valleys adorned by streams of clean water from the mountains and waterfalls with lots of vegetation and trees. The tallest mountain in Kerman is called hezar (which means 1000 but it's actually 4500 meters high), which I almost climbed with my parents one time....eventually we came back down because I started nagging too much. Pistachios, copper, and cumin are some of the most well-known exports of Kerman. I live in Europe and everytime my parents come to visit me I have to ask them to bring a ton of pistachios and wild cumin for my friends here because they love it so much. Kerman is so famous in Iran for its cumin that we even have a saying "zire be Kerman bordan" (to take cumin to Kerman), to indicate when an action is useless or unnecessary. My grandfather was himself a pistachio farmer in a little cute village outside Rafsanjan and I still remember running around his garden with my cousins when we were little, trying to eat as many pistachios, berries and figs as we could (while trying to be careful with snakes and scorpions, as there are many of them in that region!). My father in turn worked in the largest copper mine (Sarcheshme) as a translator when he was very young. There he became friends with a German and an American couple residing there as engineers. He still has photos of his friends, but unfortunately lost contact with them over time... As I could barely hear Alireza the nice guide's voice during your tour of the citadel I also must mention the beautiful Kerman accent. Of course I wouldn't expect a non-farsi speaker to recognize the difference at first, but Kerman, just like every region in Iran, has its own dialect and accent. The Kermani one is distinguished by its pronunciation (or rather, lack thereof) of vowels: for example "pedaram" (which means my father), would be pronounced "pedrm", almost as if it doesn't have vowels :)) This is why I believe Kermanis would be very good at learning Polish or Czech. But also it makes us incredibly obvious wherever we go, as if we have a sign on our forehead reading "I am from Kerman". Because of this some Kermanis try to hide it by mimicking a Tehran "bourgeois" accent On a bit more comedic note, I must mention the running joke about Kerman. Every province/region in Iran has its own jokes - for example Isfahani's are greedy, Shirazis are lazy and super chill, and of course the majority of these jokes are done in a spirit of playful comraderie. The running joke about Kerman is that we are all opium addicts :D. Of course this is exaggerated but just as any joke, there is a little bit of truth in it as Kerman is nearer to Afghanistan and their opium fields and a lot of their smuggling runs through Kerman province unfortunately. Sorry for my huge unstructured rant about my birthplace and wish you all the best in your travels wherever it may be.

Krikko, your videos of Iran are amazing! I've visited the country, mostly Tehran, Shiraz, and Isfahan, several times. Your videos have definitely inspired me to visit the other cities and provinces on my next trip; so thank you for that! I have a tiny suggestion, I think your videos would capture the essence of these mesmerizing sites, beautiful cities, and generous culture if you replace the current background music with some traditional/modern Persian songs (IMHO).

Cars whose rear suspensions have been manipulated are colloquially called "shooti". In some border cities of Iran, some people smuggle goods. The reason for this is that when all the space inside the car except for the driver's seat is filled with goods, and naturally the floor of a normal car is close to the ground. Shuti Beria drivers change the suspension of their car to prevent this from happening, as you saw, which is a funny scene :)

This is amazing, thank you for sharing your trip. I traveled to many touristic places in the world. Anywhere else, this kind guy would most likely ask for some money. Given the economic condition in Iran, most specifically in Bam, these acts of kindnesses and hospitalities are priceless.

16:47 I don't know about that specific car, but the main reason they do that is because they're using the car for smuggling so they lift the back end so when the trunk gets full it's height gets to normal.

Some objects and places seem to have a soul; if that's true, your bike and Arg-e-Bam definitely do. I hope you can bring your bike home after your journey is complete. As for Arg-e-Bam, it’s heartbreaking to see it so empty and abandoned. I wish it could regain its former glory, a hope that extends to Iran as a whole. I've heard lifting the rear end of the car is done for aesthetic reasons (?) and to improve handling when taking sharp turns at high speed. From what I understand, this isn't as common in other parts of Iran as it appears in the southeast and Bam. Bon courage in the rest of the journey ...

So good of you to visit my country and show places I haven't seen, you have so very kind words about the country, lastly question about cars "the area is close to many boarders and I unfortunately believe the cars are used for smuggling, anything really not necessarily narcotics " May Allah keep you safe, well and contented with your adventures.
