Kermanshah is the capital of Kermanshah province in Iran and the ninth most populated city and one of the big cities of Iran. Kermanshah is the largest Kurdish city in Iran. Kermanshah is one of the historical and cultural cities of Iran and its origin goes back to 3500 BC. Kermanshah, which is located in the middle of the Zagros mountain range, has always been the focus of Stone Age people due to its climate, mountainous nature, and the presence of natural shelters and caves. The oldest traces of human habitation in Kermanshah belong to the Paleolithic period. Historians estimate the historical age of this city to be between 8 and 12 thousand years, and unlike other parts of Iran that have been inhabited intermittently, this place has always been inhabited by humans in different periods.
