Thanks Nick, for taking a chance and visiting Venezuela and let me join you in this task of showing the reality of my country to the rest of the world. You’ll probably not have a chance to read this but I just want to say I discovered your channel a week ago and have already binged through your series on Venezuela, North Korea, Yemen and now Afghanistan. You are doing what I’ve always dreamt of being able to do. Travel with adventure. I have such high respect for you. You’re shining a light on aspects of these countries that the majority of us will never get to see or experience. You risk your safety on many occasions to bring the stories of the reality on the ground in these countries. Mad respect! You have balls of steel to walk the streets of Venezuela or Kabul or Somalia at night talking to a camera. It’s incredible. Keep doing what you’re doing and stay safe! Thanks for sharing your adventures. I look forward to watching more!

I was deployed multiple times to Afghanistan in mostly the Kandahar region and most of the people there liked us. I never found it hard to strike up a conversation with a local. Show interest in them and they will open up to you. I've traveled all over the world with the military and as long as you don't do the American stereotypes and ask about their culture and enjoy their company you can get a long just fine. One place I've been to that they really dont like Europeans is Thailand. I went there with the Air Force for a joint exercise with the Thai Air Force and most people were weary of us till we started talking. Lots of doors opened for us and lots of friends made there.

IRAN cannot be compared to Afghanistan and even Europe or America.from security side Iran is one of the safest place on Earth.tehran is very safer than london or New York city.the problems is only the regime which have Tribble relations with the west and that's why Iranophobia is on top duty of payed medias against Iran.Iran have a very rich diverse culture.

Love how you bring thier story's to us ... love all your videos, I think what you bring to us is the reality of normal people living in what we perceive as dangerous places.. but if you need arm guards that's already off top " not safe" lol ..
@IndigoTraveller
@IndigoTraveller 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Ismael, appreciate the words. I would still have to disagree regarding the guard. I have had a few guards in Ethiopia and Somaliland and when I asked them about how many times they have used their weapons, they both told me zero in their 20 years serving. I know, those are just 2 examples but it isn't as simple as gun = danger. Much love :)

As an American who travels a lot, my advice is to say what state you are from instead of country when asked by locals. I always say I'm from California and basically everyone around the world has a positive view of California so it gives a better first impression.

Totally understand, I’m Iranian and call myself Persian when asked cause it has more positive message with it ( although both are same) and I see other Iranians mostly call themselves Persian outside of Iran for the same reason
