@@startupmockingjay5771 I am talking about the specific missile. Perhaps you are not familiar with it. India got Meteor long range missile sort of like AIM-120 (AMRAAM) for F-16s. Egypt neither received AMRAAMs for F-16s from US nor Meteors from France for its Rafales just because Israeli qualitative advantage needs to maintained in the region. I don’t know if Saudis get long range missiles for their Eurofighters but Israeli President had to personally visit Germany and lobby the German government to drop their “human rights block” on Saudi acquisition of these aircrafts. Turkey is running into the same issue with eurofighters as Germany is blocking sales and it still isn’t finalized yet even with the German foreign minister visit to Turkey recently.

Iraq simply can't do that, Iraq most likely has the money to modernize the military, but the US doesn't allow that. You see Iraq is not like Germany or Japan and the other countries that the US invaded, the Iraqis don't want the US on their soil and they've fought against it, currently the US takes advantage of the limited air capabilities of Iraq so it can justify its existence in Iraq, at the same time Iraq is not allowed to buy from Russia and gets threatened with sanctions, buying from western countries comes with unreasonable terms and they usually sell inferior equipment.
