How to prepare
We put water, oil, salt, sugar, vanilla and flour in a saucepan and put it on the fire and stir constantly for 3 minutes until we have a dough.
We put the dough on a flat surface, sprinkle it with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, rub the dough with our hands, then put it in a nylon bag and close it tightly, then cut one of its corners and extend a long print of the dough, then pass the fork over the dough so that it takes a beautiful shape.
We cut the dough into small pieces, then heat the oil well in a deep saucepan and fry it until it takes on a golden color and becomes crispy.
We drain the mussels of the Levant from the oil well and put it while it is hot directly on top of the cold syrup, immerse it and leave it for a while until all the pieces are absorbed from the syrup, then we filter it from the syrup and it is ready to be served.
Vanilla ice cream
Ingredients two and a half cups of sugar. Six cups of whole milk. One stick of fresh vanilla. Yolk of sixteen eggs. Two cups of fresh cream. Method of preparation Mix the milk with the cream in a medium-sized metal pot, leave it to boil, then add the vanilla stick. In another bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar, using a fork, and stir well until the mixture is completely blended. Add a third of the amount of milk and cream mixture to the egg yolk, and stir well using the hand whisk. Pour the egg mixture into a saucepan of milk and cream, then stir it at a gentle speed over a low heat until the mixture thickens slightly. Raise the pot from the fire and filter it in a strainer with very small holes. Pour the filtered mixture into a clean glass bowl. Put the mixture in the fridge until it cools completely. Put the cold mixture into the ice cream machine, while adhering to the machine's instructions. Keep the ice cream in a container with a lid, then put it inside the freezer until it is used.
