Yes, amazing game indeed. I just turned 65 and still love these types of games. I also have a Denon 7.2 system and that sounds amazing, they did an awesome job coding the sound also. I believe they worked on this for 5 years. Anyway hello from ne montana.

“Magical,” the exact word I stated when I thought how I would describe Hogwarts Legacy in one word as the game captures every sense of its meaning. I don’t think I’ve ever played a game that has left me more in awe upon every corner I turn. Very often I’ll just sit there with my character just taking in the surrounding environment. It’s ridiculous how much depth and detail went into this. I didn’t know shit about what a Gryffindor or Hufflepuff was before I bought this game, lol. But, the overall great reviews struck my curiosity and I have no regrets whatsoever. Amazing game, absolute masterpiece

I grew up with HP. My aunt and I are potterheads. We went to every book opening, [almost] every movie opening. Despite all of that, I almost let this game pass me by. I was originally going to wait until it went on sale before getting it but when I heard you could actually make your own character I caved hard and bought the deluxe edition for the early access as well. And wooooo sheesh. This game is an absolute dream come true for a harry potter fan, let me tell you. So much passion put into this game. I kinda regret going 22 hours before finally getting my broom, though, lol.

Hi Ircha, If you liked flying the 🧹broomstick🧹 got a treat instore for you, you're going to love flying the 🐦hippogriff, 🐦its is so much more majestic and awesome to fly. (Yes the broomstick is the go to means of travel, (barring the fast travel points)) You have not unlocked the best parts of the "Room" yet, the multiple biomes and what you put in them is insane, you're fall in love with that bit I'm sure. This is differently the BEST game released in years. I agree the Character customisation was lacking was hoping to customise ones characters body as well and head customisation were lacking. I'm playing on PC have no loading screens apart from the shaders loading at turn-on/ start. Playing on my 1-2 yr old PC 3070 ti I7-10th gen. getting around 140 FPS. Good review, could not have said it better myself loving it. I'm also not a fan of Harry Potter like you watched the first couple of movies and yea they were ok, but its been the only game I've been playing since its pre-release a few days ago as well.

Holy moly riding a broom in this game looks so friggin awesome! I want to say I just love your reviews. Your enthusiasm and attitude are what I strive for. Your content is very appreciated. I am a bit of a slower gamer, but I am currently playing Breath of the Wild, finally and for the first time, and I am absolutely loving it. So far, I having looked anything up and used any guides except for briefly looking at a map and saying "Holy crap! So many koroks! So many koroks I am missing!" (Although I am finding a fair amount too, 25 so far.) I was really proud of myself when I cracked the "bony crown on a throne" riddle of the one valley/plain. At first I thought, hmmm What monster could this be? But then I was like, wait a minute, this is a riddle and deer wear a crown, where is a giant deer monster on a throne? But then I thought, wait a minute, a mount is kinda like a throne! And taming and riding the buck up onto the platform was just amazing. Not to mention solving the puzzle in that shrine. So, I am getting a little wordy. What I am trying to say is that I am having fun too and your videos are great. Thanks for everything 🧡💙

There are only a few minor differences in the houses. One of them has an exclusive quest.

There are some loadings screens/stutteers when you go into or out of Hogwarts. From time to time I get a small loading icon as the game transitions to the outside, but it's not all the time and it's not a huge hinderance. I also get the black screen when fast traveling but even that is only a 3-5 second stop and not too bad to deal with. I am playing on PS5 as well and about 25 hours in.

This is exactly why I have been putting this game off because once I start it's going to be the only thing I want to play lol I have it installed and ready to go on my Xbox. I just have a stack of 10+ games I need to play that I'm hoping to finish off at least 1 or 2 before starting this game. "All I'm playing right now is Hogwarts Legacy" That sums me up perfectly right now. I am addicted to this game. I am stunned by how much I am loving it. I been playing since the digital deluxe release and man its so fun. Like you I'm not a some big Harry Potter fan. I didn't watch any of the movies until last year in my 30s. Yet now that I'm 30-40 hours in, I just love it so much. It starts a little slow which is usually a con for me but given the context of the story I am okay with it. When a game is fun, I can forgive a lot.

Great review. Again for me, since I've never been a fan of Harry Potter, even the movies, it's been a hard sell for me. (If you don't know that expression, it means that I'm not the audience for the product, so it has to be extra good for me to pay attention.) And even though the wand combat doesn't look that entertaining to me, if I don't get Octopath Traveller 2, I'll probably pick Hogwarts Legacy up this weekend.

I had some frame drop issues on PS5, and small load times when leaving one part of Hogwarts and going outside. hopefully they can fix these in an update. There really shouldn't be any load times when just traverse the world.

I am in the same boat as you Icha! I only read and watched the first two books/movies when I was younger. I don't consider myself to be a Harry Potter fan at all, but I do appreciate it. I have put a handful of hours into this game and have been lost in Hogwarts castle alone. I don't even have the broom yet lol. I been exploring the castle completing any side quest I come across. When I traveled to Hogsmead for the first time, I was blown away that there was a lot more to the game than Hogwarts castle. I can't wait to play more in my free time, and I think that I'll watch the Harry Potter movies after completing this game. I am a huge fan of this game and I want to become a huge fan of the series.

There is no loading screen probably. But you keep saying there is no load times is so inaccurate. There are from time to time some short loading specifically when you going from 1 room to another room specifically when opening the door. There is a short moment of pause even with a loading icon on screen. while it is very brief. probably variable depending on situation between 1-3secs on average. But still that is a load time. Not only I have experience this personally but I believe there are already tons of video / reviews out there that did mention the same. I dont know but your reviews as of late are really questionable at times. And no it is not about Howarts Legacy but in general. I have no interest in politics in game. So it is not an attack to you because it is Hogwarts. I love the game myself too. And you do have at least half of the things pretty spot on in your review of this game. But it should be more honest in the sense where it should be call out for when it is needed. That is how we as a gamer get better products.

Took me 14 hours to get me broom lol, ye this game is great so many secrets at one point i even saw one of those People with an suitcase from fantastic beasts to sell those beast to a dark wizard. That was just an npc interaction but very cool to watch haha.

Thanks, as always, for this review! It actually helped me in an unexpected way. I played the game for about 30 hours, till I got so grumpy I just couldn’t continue. It’s been bugging me since: WHY don’t I like this game?! Now I know. I’ve been a long term Harry Potter fan, since the third book was originally released. I’ve read, re-read, and basically memorized all the books. I’ve devoured the movies. This game, while great, doesn’t feel like a Hogwarts/Wizarding World game to me at all. I’m really glad others are enjoying it, and hope it encourages others to enter the worlds of the books & movies too. But for me, I’m glad to be able to have a handle on why I didn’t like it.

It’s funny, I kind of had the opposite experience. I was SO hyped for the game when the trailers first came out. But now that I’ve played through the game a bit, it just hasn’t quite gotten me addicted. I’m only at the part where I did the stealth mission in the library, though, so I know there’s quite a bit still left to play, I just haven’t gotten totally hooked yet.

I’m sure they’ll release a patch update soon that will change my score to 10/10 but until then it will stay at a 9/10

Not only does it capture some of the wonder I had when I first experienced the wizarding world, but it's also strong enough to stand on its own two feet without having to rely very much on the Harry Potter era stuff. For a game with a 150 million budget did a good job and knowing the budget I can't see why they couldn't add quiditch cuz then they would have to make that redo it 4 times for the houses people your play against and then you would have 4 different positions to play so basically it be like a sport / maybe race game I would love more places to explore Azkaban and ministry I would love a dlc or add on where we can. Go to other schools to see more magic or learn new spells or online events to win gear or spells as well like hogwarts mystery

it is such a lovely game, its the most fun I have had in years, so it is such a shame it comes with this huge stone attached to it weighing down what should be a true gaming accomplishment. I am glad my friends are capable of talking through the issue outside the game, with maturity. Trans issues are as vital as oxygen shame not many online are as capable of understanding and respect opinions they dont agree with as the friends I am lucky to have.

I didn't realize PS5 basically had no load screens. WB dropped the ball a bit with the PC release. My PC is definitely superior to a PS5, but I'm getting small loadings before doors open going in/out. Kinda a shame. I do have everything on ultra, though, so that's cool. Doesn't stop the game from otherwise playing great.

I think Ircha is referring to lack of loading screens really, rather than tiny load times for doors. I could be wrong though!

@Xtranathor that's fair. It never removes you from play to load anything (outside of quick travel). Metroid Prime & Batman Arkham games hid their loading screens behind slow opening doors. Early Resident Evil games hid their loading screens behind doors/stairs. It's almost too bad one of these methods weren't adopted. The little loading wheel doesn't take long, but it could have been hidden better.

I'm referring to the actual "tips text" loading screens, not just the 2 seconds fade-to-black when fast traveling, I've gotten that text screen only once 😂 👍
