Interesting. Based on what I’m seeing on KZbin I’m noticing that a lot of people in Ireland their accent is becoming less pronounced. Almost sounding American. The result of possibly the ease of communication and frequency of travel. Wonder if the fact that there are so many Americans of Irish descent has something to do with it.

A lot of that may well have to do with what part of Ireland they are from. I heard some almost untranslatably strong accents , especially along the western parts. One old cab driver was speaking English, but I could only nod agreeably because I could only pick out a few words in each quick melodious sentence. He must have been thinking, "I t'ink this poor American tourist must be a bit slow in his t'ought processin'.😁
