Not entirely sure. Perhaps someone could answer this. Is there joined up thinking? I wasn't even aware there were active licences over the Kinsale assets. Some rumours pipelines may be damaged???!! No confirmation on any of this so don't quote me.

You would hope LG and Vevan, along with the Lansdowne team, can find a suitable pathway together, to make representation to the Irish government, to reconsider its ludicrous decision to reject the SEL 1/11 lease undertaking, surely there is a place in Ireland’s energy market for a productive Barryroe?, LG and Vevan bring substantial financial capability to the table and is there anyone that knows the Barryroe asset better than SB at Lansdowne?
@TROVE-1stSubsurface Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark. We understand there are moves afoot. Steve B is indeed a font of knowledge at Barryroe. Alan C also knows how to deliver. Wishing them well but the wind seems to be blowing the wrong way with the current administration. There is room for any and every HC development as Corrib continues to decline and has only a few more years to go.

Nothing significant we are aware of. Certainly not enough to warrant a third video on Ireland. Please drop us a line if you think there is progress which we should cover in future.

Rockall is disputed with the uk and Porcupine base is very deep and in the rough Atlantic. A project being done by Teagasc is to create Biomethane..... but Ireland would need an LNG terminal.
@TROVE-1stSubsurface Жыл бұрын
I thought all these boundaries had been ratified. Am I wrong (again). Porcupine is deepwater and challenging - but so is West of Shetlands. Biomethane - interesting - we'll look into that. Is it scaleable?
@roryoneill9444 Жыл бұрын
@@TROVE-1stSubsurface Rockall will never be ratified..... unfortunately.... As for Biomethane being scalable, the technology isn't there at the present time but that is what Teagasc and other Agricultural Research and training institutions are looking into. It is like water wheels from rivers generating electricity, at a small domestic level it works but to do it at a commercial the river needs damming.

Wind and storage have to be invested in!! Surprised that it is so slow to change?? Total adoption of EV's!!
@TROVE-1stSubsurface Жыл бұрын
Agreed. The global energy demand is going up and up so we need as much from renewables we can get. The UK has made a good start on fixed offshore wind - but floating wind is more challenging and expensive. The supply chain is struggling to make money and feel the confidence to invest. EV's are great but the charging infrastructure puts (me and) many others off changing. Storage - batteries &/or hydrogen - coming but challenging - and costs are likely to be high.

Europa oil and gas await licence extension grant from the DECC to promote the political incentive for drilling of near Corrib gas exploration.
@TROVE-1stSubsurface Жыл бұрын
Not sure where Irish government thinking is on this Mike. It would certainly make sense to try and find resources around Corrib to keep it going. Fast approaching the "it's too late" deadline though.
@MikeIsherwood-kp7lk Жыл бұрын
Would be simply daft not to extend FEL 4/19 and have the option to explore around Corrib as reserves decline. If there were to be a problem with the UK interconnector the lights would be out very quickly.
