@@lorddarlo6194On paper Ireland are by far the worst team in your group lol. Finland and Greece have a lot less depth but a much stronger starting XIs than Ireland. Finland have Hradecky in goal, who’s number one for the most inform team in the world. Their defence is shocking tbf, but they have a Midfield consisting of Jensen, Kamara and Kairinen and an attack consisting of the best strikers in the MLS and Serie B. Greece have a man who was Benfica Number one for 5 years in net, a defence consisting of Prem players like Baldock, Tsimikas and Mavropanos as well as some decent back up players from Serie A and the Greek league. Their midfield is quite weak in fairness but in attack they have the MLS player of the year and the one of the best strikers in the Eredivise. Ireland have one of the worst keepers to grace the prem in net (tbf wasn’t really his fault, Southampton were horrendous), someone who’s only played 50 professional games by the age of 25 in goal, and someone who conceded 9 goals in one match and has been banished to Bournemouths U21s. In defence they have a Finished Doherty, a Finished Shane Duffy, a Finished Enda Stevens and a Finished John Egan, with Ryan manning who cannot defend to save his life and inexperienced youngsters as back up. Their midfield consists of lower championship and Scottish Prem level players. And their attack relies on an 18 year old boy who’s gone 12 games without a goal, and spurs, Brighton and Norwich rejects.

@@Unclekase Let's be honest Otto Rehhagel was a genius, a miracle worker we might never see again. Your players back then were good, but they needed someone like him to turn them into the best team in Europe. And look at the bright side, at least you're no longer losing against the Faroe Islands Here in Poland we're still living the dream of the 1970s and the 1980s. In 1974 we finished third (and had a great shot at winning the whole thing), with Lato winning the Golden Boot, and Żmuda winning the Young Player of the Tournament. That Polish team had some of the best players in the world and they were only denied transfers to the biggest clubs because of politics. Lubański (who got tragically injured right before the tournament in West Germany) was a top target for Real Madrid, the most talented player Poland has ever produced. Real were also willing to pay twice the amount Barcelona splashed on Cruyff on Kazimierz Deyna, our midfield maestro. Lato outscored Gerd Müller, no comments needed. But even taking all of that into account, we have to remember about Kazimierz Górski, our coach, a genius who made all of this work Fast forward to the present day... I mean, I don't have to say anything, just look at our Euro qualification group. Three wins in this group, two of them against the Faroe Islands. And we still have a chance to qualify via the playoffs. Thanks UEFA for destroying every last bit of prestige of the European Championship
@Unclekase3 ай бұрын
@@zosiazaremba7479 Totally. Rehhagel carried this team, that's why it crumbled when he went away, and he'll always be a legend here. And definitely, that's a bright side too. As for Poland, yeah, just like so many of the Eastern block nations that were so great in the 70s-90s, mostly political shit helped to destroy these teams. One of the same with Hungary, where my wife is from, and for years the team was a bunch of shit. This has changed by now, Hungary really is a joy to watch lately, although still, the politics of what's behind that is a whole different conversation. As for UEFA, on that part I'm really scared for the future really. FIFA and UEFA are really trying to destroy football honestly, and much as I love it, I don't wish for any player to play 80 games a year. Shame indeed.
@zosiazaremba74793 ай бұрын
@@Unclekase Hungary is the Golden Standard, we should try to replicate them. What Marco Rossi did with this team is kind of incredible. But then again, Rossi has been working with the Hungarian national team for years. For contrast, our current manager Michał Probierz is the FIFTH appointment since Adam Nawałka resigned after World Cup 2018. No wonder we're a mess. But here's the thing. In the nineties things were bad, really bad. So much corruption in the league and on the international stage it was dreadful. But here's the thing, those players from the past, mostly cucumbers from the Polish Ekstraklasa and benchwarmers from mediocre leagues abroad, had never dropped points twice during one qualifying campaign against an opponent as weak as Moldova. We have players from Barcelona, Napoli, Juventus, Arsenal and we're somehow worse than when our star player was warming the bench at Wolfsburg. I don't know if I've ever seen anything like this

So the option js Play pro football for an average wage Or play GAA whilst working a full time job, you might even get your uni degree paid off for it. If you get cut from your pro team and you can’t get another contract you are unemployed. If you don’t make the GAA side one year you’ve still got a job at least. GAA is a much safer option which is why they take it over football.
