the "guy" is Torrey an absolute legend. I've seen this guy throw huge air right after a +10ft barrel, he's no joke. I'm sure he's gotten his fair share of insane huge barrels all throughout his life 😁 Just goes to show how unpredictable surfing is and even the biggest legends have their not so lucky days. Was very impressed to see Gearoid mcdaid, Ben larg, Conor maguire. Did not know them. Seems like they surf there a lot. Local knowledge pays off. Their waves were better than some of Nate's and Nic's waves 💪

Great video guys! As an Irishman I've been there a couple of times to watch the tide, cant believe people actually intentionally go out in that and it's scary to watch, although they are large waves (50 feet) the waves further North in Donegal average 65 feet - also Donegal hold the record with a weather buoy measuring a wave at 2am during storm Franklin at 93 feet (Rossan Point)

My mother used to work in the hotel at Rossnowlagh beach about 30 mins just up the coast. They used to hold international surfing comps every year. She used to go for a swim every morning at 5:30 before work and there was nothing like wet-suits available (at least not affordably) back then (early- mid 70s) Great seeing it still gets some reconition as a good surf spot when warmer waters are as or more easily accesed.
Who would’ve thought that Ireland would have the most beautiful slab shoulder variant? It’s beautiful and emerald green.

As an Irish person this is sick! The waves are huge and I can only imagine the cold, we have such long and freezing cold winters here

Fake news. There are no winters and the weather is very mild most of the year. The water is cold nevertheless.

Damp and miserable yes! We get mild winters on the gulf stream. I'm a irish man who lived in Norway 🇳🇴 for twenty years and I can tell you... they get very cold waves😂
@helenaville59399 ай бұрын
You sound confused. Ireland doesn't have long winters that are freezing cold. That's Scandinavia. Ireland's climate is mild so it rarely drops below freezing in the winter thanks to the Gulf Stream. Learn your geography.
@towel24739 ай бұрын
@@helenaville5939have you lived here? just because scandinavia is colder doesnt make the north west any warmer than it isnt. it might not get down 20 below zero but it very rarely gets over 20 the opposite side. 15c is a nice day here
@helenaville59399 ай бұрын
@@towel2473 Yes I have lived in Ireland for 61 years. And I know that your claim stating "we have long and freezing cold winters here" is absolutely incorrect. As already stated, we live in a mild climate. This means we avoid extreme conditions whether summer or winter. For example we have just come out of winter and had no snow whatsoever. Go and check out our summer and winter temperatures and you'll see that we rarely dip below 0 degrees. I can't add much more than this and I find your claims a bit shocking. I wish you well regardless.
