Accidentally saying English swear words on a UK/Irish morning show is such an easy thing for an American to do! 😆Since those words literally aren't swear words in America (which is why Spike could swear like an English sailor on the WB/CW), we kinda forget that they might be inappropriate to an actual English/Irish audience. 😂 I, actually, do like the idea of Spike as a Watcher because he would have absolutely no patience and it would be hilarious! 😆

Marsters is an amazing actor--and his turn as Spike in 'Buffy' proves it. So heckin' good, that it was a SHOCK to hear his Yankee accent (Anthony Head is a great coach!). Two favourite moments: Spike telling someone that Billy Idol got his shtick from HIM, and not the other way around...😂...and his final scene in the series, when--on the cusp of dying--he tells Buffy that he yearns to find out 'what's next'... Incredible, memorable character, in a remarkable series.

Yep - sometimes you can tell he is putting on an accent, but he sounds like an English person putting on a different English accent rather than an American doing an English accent (Also Rest In Peace is very impressive, given that he doesn't drop the accent whilst singing, and has a couple of lines in game face makeup and fangs - really shows off the work and skill both he and Anthony Head put in to accent coaching)

I have to agree. But more on a metaphorical level. I need to take some time and make a video essay about it. I really believe his character stands for Buffy's greatest love, not Angel, which doesn't mean their love story wasn't the grandest love story ever told by Joss Whedon. But like with Romeo and Juliet, a great love story or even the grandest love story doesn't mean that this was your one true love.
