You should try Onn Kee for the chicken... Then dim sum is Ming Kok or one in Ipoh garden name Cui Yue (something jade)... Foo san quality drop a lot already la and too commercialised... Lou Wong and Foo san already more than 20yrs I never go... I'm from Ipoh working in KL

Welcome to Ipoh!! Actually near Ming Court and Fu San got another dim sum shop call Yuk Fuk Moon, also very nice. I personally like Ming court the most.

haha...Welcome to my hometown....yes we speak Cantonese here. I'm going to Singapore end of next month. LOL Edit: I recommend dim sum go to 翠月楼，for 鸡丝河粉 go to Cowan street or 安记. 老黄 too touristy and quality gone down a bit. I recommend also Hakka noodles near Pasir Puteh Road. 8AM open don't go after 9am almost the 粮料 gone.

每次去怡保都搵機會去舊街場食好食嘅雞絲河粉，這才是河粉王者。去光興或天津，這兩舖有40-50年歷史。它的河粉是主角， 食了三十幾年，還是老舖好嘢。 安記老黃的主打不是河粉。

怡保德记炒粉和八爪鱼我试过，不过依本人之见，名过于实，还是小时候吃过的好吃得多 -味佳、料足、价钱便宜，无论如何，事过境迁，没有什么好比较的了！安记也好，老黄也罢，都是游客之选，如果问问本地人，会有更佳的芽菜鸡。

富山是游客去的。我家乡怡保，富山几十年前我小时是很出名，也好吃，我哋个个礼拜日都去喝早茶。可惜从旧地址(现在的紫藤餐庁)搬去这新地址，餐庁又装修到靓靓之后，个人觉得食物就不怎么好吃了，而且大大旧不得精致，不像有些店是即点即蒸，刚搬的早期我还有去，之后就没再光顾了。 其实怡保点心都不如新加坡那间 crystal jade 好吃有水准，不过我们去吃 covert 一下马币就真系好贵。

Ipoh's bean sprouts and their ipoh hor fun are grown/made using their spring water (that's what has always been said but not sure if it is still 100% true for all :D) Be sure to try their famous salt baked chicken. Did you guys plan a trip up to Cameron Highlands since you are already in Ipoh?? Road up to Cameron from Ipoh is smoother than from KL.

I will avoid Cameron Highlands till the roads are made safer. Worse during wet season. Plus forests on the hillsides are cleared illegal for plantation, leading to frequent landslides.

@@breetai78 no issues going from Ipoh and of cause don't go during rainy seasons and NOT via the old route (which I hear is hilly and winding and landslides are common). We rented a car and my father drove up few years ago. Don't recall having any issues going up in the car ride. (We don't take the public bus too. Either going Genting or Cameron, both by car.)

要吃芽菜鸡，去天津、光兴、乐会居、都好过去那个老黄和安记。其实老黄碗汤浊到死那有好吃。安记 service 差到半条命，淋在芽菜上啲油又不像人家天津是香的。下次可以试下去天津，叫两碗斋河粉、一碟两人份的鸡，一碟芽菜，一碟鸡杂，配着吃，那就 perfect 了。
