He is a warrior and spy. He is very funny, clever, brave and loyal. Also he is the hero of the story. He is on his way to deliver a message to king and Princess from crown prince. It is the first time he is visiting the chola country. Chola land is one of richest land in 10th century. So he is enjoying the views. He is going through a river festival. It is the beginning of the story. Cholas build a dam in that river in 10th century. We are still using that dam in 21st century. Ponniyin Selvan based on real historical characters and places. It's arguably the greatest Novel ever written in Tamil literature.

The translation is... Ponni nadhi paakanumey... It's vanthiyathevan with semban- his horse's name. The first stanza says, across the monstrous fast flowing cauvery river the king had built a dam of grandeur...he talks about the glory of the kingdom, the crops florish with the sound of hearing the river flowing, the architecture flourishes with the sound of uli a tool, the enemies daunt with fear on hearing the cholas bows.. The second stanza is vanthiyathevan singing about the glory of the sightings of the empire on the way and he encourages his horse to gallop fast like the free flowing river... Each and every word is a beauty in this song...

Hi Alyssa, Sean, Ponniyin Selvan movie is based on a Tamil Classic by the same name and is about how Arulmozhivarman, the Prince, later became the great Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola I.This is all happening in the 10th century and there is intrigue, suspense, romance you name it. The story came out in a serialized form in Tamil in a Tamil magazine Kalki. It is the result of many years of reserach by the author of the story and is part of Tamil consciousness. Almost everyone who loves the language has read this story. I have read it 3 times so far and have loved every moment of it. It is huge, written in five volumes, about 2,200 pages, and as i already said it tells the story of how Rajaraja chozha became the King. An English translation is available though I do not think the Tamil version has been fully translated and is a work in progress! You have been great in many aspects and understanding INDIA as a whole but the main issue that when I saw you reacting SM - Songs, at first I thought they don't know about him and the politics here so it's fine (yes he was assassinated which is very wrong you paid him respect no probs). But now when I checked your video history so you have reacted to enough of his songs (where he also supports KHALISTANIS, supporting Sikhs is very good cause they are good people and I respect them from my heart) but when it comes to separatists, I don't think even you would like if someone divides or breaks CANADA. So right now I just UNSUBBED your channel cause I don't want to support people who promote hate, gun violence and separatism (please don't tell me about freedom of speech and artistic licensing and compared to KGF, PS1 and more, But it was even Kesari and Sardar Uddham- but I loved it from my heart that's how dedicated the people and these movies were towards the country people and the country itself ).
