I loved it. I prefer this to his SP, which was nice but relatively tame by comparison. This brought theatricality. With his tech, he might actually be unstoppable. Look forward to seeing how this program progresses over the year. Ignore the haters, Ilia.

@@anjaplushenka5995 They're saying it's a mess, he has no skating skills etc. Ok his glide is not perfect but wow, has he improved. There is passion, energy, life, connection with the music. I like this a lot and look forward to seeing this, and him, develop during the season.

Am I the only one who loves this program? He is a phenomenal skater and he’s a dramatic person so this should suit him well ! He seems to like it he does have challenges with the choreo I would imagine Shay lynne does his programs

I think his team must be allowing him to choose his own music. He seems much more engaged in these new programs and I remember he said he'd never even watched Succession. Good for him. Great choreography!

You need to read the rules of component scores carefully. There are three components: composition, presentation and skating skills. Ilia almost hit every bullet point of composition and presentation in this program. 9+ was well deserved for these two components. As for skating skills, there might be some disputes there. I hate that people always complain about pcs when they literally have no ideas what pcs is about and how it is scored. PCS is the same as GOE, both having bullet points. If skaters and their programs can hit the bullet points, they will get the marks for it!

@@lgk512 Yes they do, they contribute not only to Grade of Execution, obviously, with difficulty but also composition. It's a packed program, there are some things he could hold a fraction longer, the amazing Ina Bauer and the lunge for example. BUT I really love this program

What a unique talent! What a height of the jumps! Unbeleavable. I did not like men's figure skating until Stephan Lambiel, he was artisticly great. And then nothing special , falls ...and falls.......I was so tired for the quads. But this man, WOW! A gifted talent. Something like that won't happen again. I am sure. It seems so easely, what a lightness. He looks similiar to his mother Tatjana.

Western women figure skating fans as you can tell from the arena are mostly elder. Their taste for music is mainly classical or musical or pop that was popular in their youth. Moulin Rouge, Phantom of Opera, Titanic etc etc. They find it hard to enjoy such modern music Ilia is skating to. But figure skating needs something new that Ilia is brining to the sport to draw in young audience.

本音を言うとバックフリップ見てて恐怖しかないからどうしても好きになれないしやらないで欲しい。シーズン毎に表現力はかなり上がってるし入れる必要あまり感じないんだけどなあ。衣装完全に血が着いててビビる。アップの写真見たけど衣装の作成技術凄すぎて笑ってしまった！

Это костюм такой с рисунком крови, посмотрите, с самого начала были красные полоски на рукаве и воротнике

@@ФотоФото-и1ю , если посмотрите при замедлении, то заметите, в какой момент порезался и как руку стряхивает. С костюмом было всё в порядке с самого начала, а даьше уже и манжет весь в крови. А когда лег на лед взмахнув рукой, то кровь обильно попала на правую часть воротника. Стойкий парень, молодец, даже виду не подал. Лишь в замедлении видно, как после приземления он отвлекся и глянул на правую кисть.

I'll say it again...I really like Ilia and am rooting so hard for him, but I hate his programs. Here we are again this season with two programs that have down-beat music featuring angst-ridden and raspy-voiced singers that's just overbearing and ponderous to listen to. It's WAY too melodramatic. Ilia has such an upbeat personality. I'd love to see him do something lighthearted and fun that matches his energy, but it's always this kind of overwrought and over-serious material that's a mismatch for him.

Oh I am not sure I agree. This is super early in the season and he’s already showing way more confidence in at least trying to present himself artistically. I think he will only get better. This is a lung busting program. The stamina to skate it pretty full on for the first time: major props.

This is who he is. You are trying to make him who you want him to be. How do you know what he feels inside? If you would really listen to the lyrics of "Hope" you would understand the powerful positive message it gives. Ilia does not want to do what it typical. His performances are far more profound than just following the herd. In other words, he's a badass and is astonishing people. Ice skating has been far too dull for far too long. Let's let Ilia be Ilia.

I’m so glad and excited that Ilia comes right after Nathan Chen. Ilia amps up technically what Nathan has accomplished in the sport. Each skater brings his own physicality and personality to his performances. Ilia doesn’t have the elegance and grace of Nathan Chen but he has his own boyish charm and exuberance, yet they do have one thing in common: a modern edge, a sense of freeness in their styles. I appreciate their individualities. I love them both.
