Chester was a really devout Christian, mentioned it many times in interviews; and Dave was in a Christian rock band in the 90s, apparently almost became a church pastor. I don't know where Mike and Joe stand now, but Joe once mentioned in an interview going to church as a kid. Brad and Rob are Jewish, so they're irrelevant in this context. So I'm not really surprised.

“If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not bridle his tongue, he deceives his heart and his religion is worthless. Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” True religion is not where you worship or how holy you appear to those around you. It’s shutting out the negative influences surrounding you and reaching out in love and compassion to those most in need. It’s being attuned to the pain of the individual doubting their place in the world and reaching out to ensure them they matter!
@pigoman65664 жыл бұрын
Please show me a lyric that links this song to Christian
@trenae774 жыл бұрын
Pigo man 65 there’s no specific lyric that links it to Christian; to be honest it’s how the song strikes you. For me I wouldn’t have this a worship song played regularly, but rather as a ‘special’ or an accent to a specific sermon. The image of an unbeliever “falling into empty grace” and feeling “impossibly alone”. “Let it go” is God’s cry to release the cling to sin and find find an escape from all that is holding them back. Our pastor dod something similar with All American Rejects “Move Along” in relation to Paul’s message to the church to press forward through all obstacles. I could see the connection and others but my mom and dad didn’t have the same view. So it is really on a personal level and relies heavily on personal interpretation. If you see no connection, that makes you no more wrong than it makes those who feel a connection right.

@18selah62 Жыл бұрын
Chester was a Christian. Because someone doing "that" doesn't mean it's not a Christian. He wanted to end his pain and depression, not his life. We don't know what kind of pain he felt. Stop judging. God know his struggling better. I love Chaster, and I love you guys, because God is love. 🤍

@@18selah62 I'm not judging anyone here, just said i wish he was a christian. You are deceived, you say God is love, and treat him like a crutch, you only call him when you want, God is not only love, he is just, and will determine if people go to heaven or hell, not you, do you think you are God? You can't judge weither he's a christian or not, only God can, by the life he lived, and most of all weither he Accepted the Lord as his lord and saviour
