Well said! I've done the same. And, anyone with any musical sense knows you don't mess with Minnie unless you've got the chops AND the RANGE to do it justice! Who are we to say that it wasn't a tribute by Chante to someone she greatly admired! She did a fabulous job, its just that growing up in the era of real soul, we became accustom to hearing the passion. Minnie passion could be heard lingering at the end of every note. It was effortless, free flowing and appeared spontaneous. After great singers like Minnie it appeared singers became more interested in technique and most lacked passion.It all became sort of mechanical.
