I bought this product. I couldn't use it very efficiently but it was more efficient after your presentation. Better than manufacturer's presentations.

This is a great demo. It's highlighting features and combos that even the official IK videos don't on their own channel or website. I think they intended for this to be used more like a traditional modeler, but the younger players are just abusing it like the smart device it is. Incredible playing too boot. What a time to be alive.

Ive been using the Amplitube since the Original Big StompIO controller days and still have mine. Amplitube is great and I run mine through a Mackie board to JBL powered speakers and its killer.

I’m going to return the Helix I just bought and get this. It’s perfectly simple, affordable and great size. I suppose near endless updating support is conceivable too. 🤘 Update: I kept the helix and IK stomp. The stomp is NOT for gigging musicians. The biggest problem with the stomp is the unsupported pcb board. The weight of cables when plugged in, will cause the unit to short and power down. It’s the dumbest design I’ve ever come across. IK should have used standard cable jacks that screw into the metal frame, not just floating. Other than that huge oversight, it’s a cool unit for home practice.

Thanks for the update. I wish more people who have actual experience with the product (like you) would post in the comments on other products!

Thanks for this short critical review. Another YT reviewer mentioned the weak ports which is rather unfortunate. Hopefully the next version is improved as I really want to try a VST live setup for gigging. I wonder if their is a way to DIY improve it...

found this vid while researching the Stomp and I too saw the other vid mentioning the whacky connectors well, in the end resort to the all gigging musicians multitool: **duck tape** (yes, thank you, I know it's written differently but that's THEIR loss, not mine!)

Do you get a good sound if you're not playing thru an actual amp, like straight to a mixer...? Thanks!

Yes! One of the great aspects I have found is the versatility of using the controller as a recording interface in the studio, as well as its use as a DI into a mixer for live purposes, etc.

Can you change the min max of the parameter you're controlling with the expression pedal?
@IgnitedGuy0075 жыл бұрын
Tristan Deniet I believe you can. There is a MIDI button in the lower right hand corner of AmpliTube. Inside that window You should be able to adjust parameters for the Stomp IO.

Brant Pickard thanks. This setup is very tempting. Amplitube sounds awesome but bringing computers into the live equation scares me a bit.

@tristandeniet5 жыл бұрын
Brant Pickard I don't just mean actual computers, rather anything that relies on that technology ie the pedalboard. Seems like I could have a good experience or a terrible one. Physical amps and pedals feel less likely to not work for no apparent reason.

Hi I would appreciate it if anyone can help with the following please! I have a stomp I/0 and i currently i have my guitar usually connected to it, is there a possibility to connect the mic and the guitar together ? What options do i have if i want to sing and play at the same time while using Amplitube ? Thank you !
@IgnitedGuy0075 жыл бұрын
Nezar Chehab You cannot connect both, nor would You get the desired effect!!! The signal that enters the Stomp IO will go into AmpliTube. This is great for a guitar, not so great if Your voice comes out sounding like an overdriven Fender Bassman!! You can use the Stomp IO with the vocal app on the iPad, but that would do little for Your guitar tone. Maybe one day IKM will have a product that will merge the two, until then...no go.

I've currently bought one of these and I'm using it on an ipad air 2 connected to a roland microcube gx. I'm getting buzzing sounds and it's stopping me from enjoying this product. Can anyone help me??
@whendoweeat4 жыл бұрын
I haven't owned a Microcube in 12 years, but I don't think it's meant to be used as a monitor which is what you would need for your iRig. Try plugging in a pair of headphones direct into the IRig and see if you get. If you don't hear any more buzzing, you should either use headphones, monitors, or a PA to use it like an amp.
@anthonyvaccari46074 жыл бұрын
@@whendoweeat sorry for the late reply, I've tried adding my 10 watt logitech powered speakers to the earphone output, I have noticed there is still a humming noise but disappears when I touch the jack input of my guitar. This happens on both Amplitube and Bias Fx 1+2 and both guitars, EVH Standard and my Epiphone Les Paul Standard pro. I'm so frustrated, I lack the knowledge, thought it was easy as plug and play. If I plug directly into my amplifier this doesn't happen. I've changed from a microcube to a Peavey vyper 75 watt.
@whendoweeat4 жыл бұрын
Anthony Vaccari have you tried headphones? The irig likely won’t work with computer/entertainment speakers either. You’ll need headphones, a PA, or powered monitor speaks like you see in studio videos.

One of the great features is that the controller works as a midi controller. It can be used with all software using midi to differing degrees of success.

Is it possible to connect a boss pedal to it?
@IgnitedGuy0075 жыл бұрын
cycling maven You would likely need to connect it in line with the Stomp IO. You can add it before the signal goes into the board, or on the left or right outputs as the processes signal comes out of the board.
@russelldye30995 жыл бұрын
If I’m not mistaken you can use your boss pedal to control any stomp on the AmpliTube software as an extra “button” for your pedalboard. Same way you can add an expression pedal as well for control of pedals or perameters...this setup is kickass...

simply doesn't work. in fact the only time irig products seem to work is in youtube videos. ikmultimedia is just a very slick marketing machine.You spend all your time emailing the support department where they promise engineers are busy working on it and will have it working real soon. Waste of time and money. I suspect IK Multimedia has a very poor relationship with Apple because they don't want to pay any licensing fees so what works one day in the lab stops working as soon as its released and Apple updates the operating system, or changes the way its ports work.

The most obvious fail of this device is evidenced by the demonstration of placing it on a table and using hands to use the iPad. iPad on the floor = Fail. Who wants to constantly squat or bend over just to change a parameter? It should include a bracket to attach your iPad to a mic stand and a much longer cord. Or at the very least, just a longer cord to move your iPad into a more sensible location.
@brandonhirdler2 жыл бұрын
As if we don’t bend down to adjust physical pedals?
@glendoggett96702 жыл бұрын
They do have a bracket to attach the tablet to a mic stand for purchase separately, and an extension lightning cable to connect to the iRig on the floor, which should be included.

How do ensure the volumes between patches are level? Or are they already set that way? If already set that way, that would save a lot of time fiddling with setting levels
