I've posted about a couple of months ago about a group of pedals which I've personally labeled as 'The Three Stooges' caused by my first impression of them being a dubious bunch. This is due to the choice of material used to house its circuitry thus practically made of ABS plastic, as shown on the link below, & of which i'm still yet to make a demo of them as well on the other hand.
• Unboxing IRIN's Seemin...
But, as it turns out there's another equally questionable 4th unit that proverbially came out from the same mold. Or so i thought...
I'm not really sure what pedal IRIN themselves has made a copy of through this unit. But, my closest speculation would be Mooer's Pure Booster pedal which apparently is their own attempt to clone Xotic's RC Booster unit. ...minus the 'volume' knob, though.
Fortunately, this channel's all about cheap pedals. Hence, the desire to seize the moment & enjoy what this thing had to offer instead - straight off the packet.
Personally speaking, I like it quite a lot. And I'm digging the matte black color too 'coz it matches well with the cube baby, not only aesthetically but sonically speaking as well. ...something I likely to gravitate towards to taking along with the cube baby if ever i'd have another chance to play on stage again. And despite the absence of the volume knob itself, all three other knobs are still capable of achieving 'unity gain' when dialed right.
For direct monitoring from the 'cube baby', I'm using an ATH-M20X headphones by Audio Technica. However, a parallel out also directly coming from the 'cube baby' itself goes to the audio input of my phone, which is just an old Samsung J6+ unit. And, upon transferring the 'ATH' into the 'J6' for previewing, there really isn't much variance at all. BUT, soon as I've watched the file/video from my desktop, which drives a pair of Bose Companion 2 Series II monitors, the discrepancies in audio quality is fairly large. Apparently, the 'ATH' trumps the 'companions' this time around, though.
Hence, quite likely, the tone you'll be hearing from your end may not give justice to how I've heard the pedal when i had it tested through my own system.
