That was Fonteyn. Just watched her Rose Adagio. This unfortunately no comparison. She is too sophisticated and mannered. Where are the balances? The Princes practically on top of her!

@@sedekimanIrina Kolpakova is one of the greatest ballerinas of all time. Her Aurora is perfection. For me Margot Fonteyn was just a very average artiste. Lauded in the West because there were very few decent ballerinas.

It is very noticeable that she was 50 here, but Galina Ulanova at such age danced Juliet and looked like she was 16. It is different for everyone, of course. Irina Kolpakova was an outstanding ballerina in her prime time. Later she became a ballet instructor in ABT.
