Kinda "meh" reaction. Understandable though, as you don't really know romanian folclore. It's actually really difficult to adapt it to modern music and viceversa, so hearing this piece of art honestly gives goosebumps to any romanian, no matter if they are folclore songs adepts or modern music adepts. For us it's shocking and surprising, but in a very pleasant way.

I was at one of Irina concerts here and it s amazing! I love her for manny thinks but the most off how she respect traditional folk music from my country and Rep. Moldova ' but i see Rep. Thank you for this reaction.😍 This song is an old enchantment that portrays these supernatural feminine creatures from Romanian mythology, widespread in superstitions called IELE. They are said to be immortal, very beautiful, seductive, they wear their hair loose and appear at night in the moonlight, in secluded places, dancing naked or in white dresses, they can fly or levitate. If they are seen by humans during the dance, then they punish them by putting them in a deep sleep with songs and dances and disfiguring them.

Where they dance grass doesn't grow anymore and the earth is permanently scorched. On rare occasions they will bestow boons to men they like or to people who respect their authority over the forest. A weird twist of absolute chaos and love.

"Iele" are like a type of women, almost like witches. This piece of folklore is possibly originating in the roman myth of Diana, the female god of hunting and her group of women.

Is... Very hard to translate or at least too... adapt them but in romanian they have a sort of aaa... mistic meaning wich takes you back centuries ago when the people were highly superstitious so the mix between these genres is... phenomenal but u need to understand romanian too...
