My great aunt died at around 97 years old. She ate small portions her whole life, and was big on drinking lemon-juice. She was in amazing health her whole life, and was never stressed, which likely had a lot to do with never being married or having kids. She said the key to long life was minimal food and minimal stress. Good luck to us all!

My great Aunt lived until 103. She was a good weight, walked everyday, low sugar, no prepackaged or take out, even eating out was a no no. She ate a salad and a huge side of vegetables with lunch and dinner. Breakfast, she has orange juice, oatmeal with berries, coffee with whole milk, and a small bowl of fruit with honey, flax and chia on top. She was doing this stuff way before it became an influencer thing..like 1960's on. She also read everyday and did some form of art or creative work. She also didn't take anyone's bs..peace at all costs! LOL

I was just watching a video on new research that showed that it's incredibly important to eat veggies First with any meal. More blood sugar spikes leads to more issues that impact life span. Turns out if you eat veggies First in your meal your body begins to immediately break the food down and the high fiber creates a protective mesh in your dietary tract and stops blood sugar spikes. I started trying this and it's surreal. It works to regulate blood sugar and I can eat all the regular stuff I eat, which is moderately healthy, and the meal doesn't cause blood sugar spikes and then that burnout feeling. So I wonder how many of these people that live longer, just happened to have a salad starter with their meals? For me, I'm convinced. I had stopped eating until noon because of the blood sugar swing was crashing me. Basically, I'm going to switch to Japanese style breakfast, instead of American and always eat my veggies first!

@@Dobrojuto.yt-7 For your Information, not necessarily. Nutrition is a huge part of that equation and the will to live is an even stronger factor. My dad is classic example of someone who comes from a lineage of long living people. But my dad lost the will to live after a traumatic experience in his golden years. I saw him deteriorate slowly until his death. The life force left him and it was clearly obvious he didn't want to live. Prior to that, my dad was a funny, out-going guy who loved life. So no, it's not genetics. You can have all the genetics in the world but if you don't eat nutrient dense foods it ain't gonna do you any good. Add no purpose or meaning in life and you'll be living even a shorter time. I also know people who don't come from a lineage of long living people but live into their 90s and 100+ with no health issues.

Excess is bad news folks. I had a friend who was always pursuing a good time and she looks like hell right now. I have a sister who had to have a PhD and I ask at what cost? Her health is awful and since her husband passed last year she's a basket case. She never did eat properly, no exercise, watching television, especially those judge shows about other folks problems, and always in bed for some strange reason. Had a rough childhood but so did I, however, I chose not to let it ruin my life. The way you THINK will definitely be the determining factor of the QUALITY of your life no matter the length. Your mindset is EVERYTHING. I heard a few centennials interviewed on why they thought they lived longer. Two were sisters, they said it was that they never married and one was a man who drank beer & smoked cigarettes everyday. If you believe what you eat is good for you, it will be. On the other hand, if you are eating something saying "I shouldn't eat this, this is no good" it certainly won't be. Do what you believe is good for you & listen to your inner guidance.

You don’t have to stress over things normal people do, like work, affording rent , bills, food, insurance, etc. They can afford to take vacations to relax while we can’t. @@ann5765 obviously you know nothing about how insurance works. The dr can order test that you need, but the insurance company can deny those test. Same with meds. Insurance don’t cover everything and there are limits on how much they cover each year. This is why some have to choose between their meds and food. Some meds cost $2000 a month and your only allowed 3 month’s coverage of it because there is a $6000 a yr limit on meds. Some insurance won’t even cover all diabetics meds a month. I hope you never find yourself in need of meds or test and your insurance won’t cover it. Your probably young and in great health. Enjoy it while you can. It won’t always be like that.

While I like that attitude, it’s not that simple. It’s not only about how stressful your daily life is. Stress gets stored in the body and most people need help and guidance in how to release that stress. Old traumas from childhood gets stuck in the body. Many of us are living with childhood traumas still affecting us and we are not even aware of it because it has been normalized in our society. I recommend everyone to take a course in nervous system regulation.

Our granny lived to be 101. She was in good mental shape compared to people even much younger. There are many grands and great grandchildren and lots of activity. Grand would be on top of everyone's schedules. She knew who had baseball, a recital or a dentist appointment. I don't know if her longevity was because of the power of the mind or if this power was a result of her lifestyle and also gave her energy and longevity. I do know I never seen her stress. I hope I'm doing as good if I ever reach her age. Miss you gran! 🕯💐

That's definitely the way to live; you reduce A LOT of your stress when you stop being concerned about others when they don't need your concern. My grandmother lived until 99 (passed in 2020, her brother lived to be 102, passed 2021), the only thing that messed her up was her addiction to drinking sodas and she didn't start doing that unitl her sixties, caused her to have renal failure. But one things for sure, she did not concern herself with other's business and she didn't worry about things out of her control.

My parents were living in a peaceful place of a beautiful national park, my dad was a butcher and so they both ate organic quality mostly carnivore diet, no city life, no stress about money, no debt and yet they both died in their 50s. I live in a megacity of London, as soon as I left home eating vegetarian, living busy life with lots of diverse activities and show no signs of poor health, no medication, no age related issues whatsoever. I don't think there is ever going to be one-fits-all kind of lifestyle. My conclusion is that the only purpose we have is to grow, be happy and enjoy life.

I would suggest not lifting weights or exercising nearly as much. Youre stressing your body out and destroying millions of cells every time you do it. Plus creates free radicals in the body. Just eat lots of meat, preferably raw; and limit pretty much everything else, especially seed oils and corn syrup/sugar.

Can see from all the varied comments and those who say things like “eat healthy, exercise, don’t drink or smoke “ do not understand. My grandma lived to 97, and only bc she fell and got depressed bc her mobility was restricted. She smoked no filtered cigarettes, had a horrible processed food diet, drank pretty much only huge amounts of coffee. But she was happy. Lesson learned, I think.

Eating clean & healthy most of the time & staying active is the key. Of course you have folks that will always justify unhealthy habits. Maybe her ancestors took care of themselves and passed that way of being to her. And whoever eats whatever they please is active now because they’re genetically strong but we don’t yet know that if they live to 86 or so but had they ate better maybe they could’ve lived to 90 or 100. I’d like to be the latter, no excuses. To me, “quality of life is everything”. I got grand babies to play with ❤😊

Just because we excersize doesnt count for the processed food that probably kills our life short on a daily basis... I went back to eating chocolate daily after 3 years of good control off that sort of crap. Now I'm back to feeling like crap 😂 well that's on me but the point is the chocolate I bought was very addictive, 40g of sugar for two blocks of the whole bar, not surprising it has jellybeans, sugar, more added sugar from marshmallows, etc it was a candy mix inside of the chocolate. I have diabetes and binge eating disorders and I know I'm not supposed to be giving in, its stress just like smoking etc. I have ADD too that does not help, there should be more laws on how they sell confectionery and substance that are strongly harmful that will cause rebound to addictions. It shouldnt be approved it's getting kinda dumb they advertise the encouragement of these items. I want a veggie garden to keep me active not the stupid convenience to junk food. Cant even get away from it, there is Junk takeout 3 mins away from where I live, i dont eat takeaway but I'm sick of knowing that's it there 😂 Also european whole family at random times makes us eat like crazy, does not help 😅
