It’s such a pity that the Irish Air Corps museum has no real standing as a national museum and appears to enjoy no support outside the Air Corps itself. The collection can’t be accommodated in the present hangar and some aircraft are leaving on loan. There needs to be an officially supported plan to locate the museum in a dedicated facility and to ensure that, as with every other European air arm, there is a proper museum, open to the public, recording and preserving the organisation’s history.
