Sad to hear that the Irish Army has left Lifford Barracks. I remember the amazing welcome that I received at the old Prior School when visiting from Australia in 2004, realising the great friendship between Irish and Australian people, and particularly between our soldiers on joint overseas service. Hope all is well in your new barracks. Best wishes from an old Aussie Sapper with roots in Donegal. Éirinn go Brach !

Your comment is a laughing stock really you've set a high standard of trolling for other trolls on KZbin. The Irish Defence Forces has always been about helping the people whether at home or peacekeeping abroad while answering to the UN. If they did think they where the British Army they would be answering to the Americans wouldn't they? I'm a British Citizen (with an Irish mother) but I would much rather be in the IDF than the British Army.

Fool the defence forces is an umbrella term to encapsulate the broad spectrum of military personell in the republic of ireland which are the army navy aircorps ,learn before you talk fool

I would say career in the Irish defence forces are boring not to many progression or wider choice opportunity cause its just a defence for not an army..no main battles tanks, no jet fighters just propeller powered planes like WW2, no navy destroyer etc..no wonder many cross to NI to get a better prospect in the British Army which is more wider..time to bury the hatchets of the past..thats just my humble opinion :)
