I like how their music is at full contrast with their bleak surroundings and weather. I wish I could visit Ireland just once before I die. I don't want to go to its fancy cities and pubs, I just want to stand on a rocky, moss-laden cliff on a drizzly day and watch the furious sea beneath while dark clouds obscure the sky and me - all alone - enjoying some home-made, moonshine whisky.

the people really still sing this song in some pubs... it’s lovely! I was visiting Family in Dublin in 2018 and it was so much fun. I really miss it!

To anyone talking about how they are amazed at the lack of breaths, its called talking on an inhale. They're also clearly professional singers. I believe Ireland and Scotland are two non Scandinavian countries that also talk on an inhale to allow them to keep speaking without having to pause. Its really popular here in Iceland.

So odd to hear the irish version, I grew up with a translated version from a group here in Denmark.
