This is not a simple interview, it is a soul testimony. But who can do that? I really admire people who can open up and express their thoughts and feelings to the fullest. And he doesn't care if his eyes get watery at some point. This guy is a good guy after all. I just wonder if he knows what his fans are feeling and thinking.

Well, THAT was an hour well spent. So often I get frustrated by interviewers who either haven't done their homework or are so busy making sure we all see how cool they are that Gary (or whoever the subject is) is reduced to delivering the standard canned answers that he's said a hundred times before. Either that or they're besotted fans who get overcome by silliness. McLean is a classic "old school" journalist. Well prepared, with a good sense of his interviewee-who he is, what his career looks like, and where he and the band sit in the popular landscape. And he's comfortable enough in the job to actually listen to Gary's answers and key off them; it's more of a conversation than "interview." Which in turn leads Gary to relax and open up more. Thanks so much for posting up the complete session.

Such a special interview.. all the emotions are the reason to love Gary the way he is and why he catches peoples heart and soul with the lyrics and music and his behavior.. Lots of love.. take care .. the world needs people like him to feel alive.. its always magical to listen to him ❤ wish he could see him through our eyes to see how beautiful his soul is

The interviewer's well researched, inquisitive, compassionate, and supportive interview style created the environment for a discussion that was beautiful, revealing, heartbreaking, and humourous.
