Baby, it’s been a long time coming... When a band hasn’t released anything in 7 years it couldn’t have gone better that it did for Snow Patrol. Playing some of the songs at concerts the last five years was brilliant. Wildness doesn’t have a bad song on it. The fact I didn’t skip past any of the songs speaks volumes in itself (to me). Music is such an integral part of me most songs never make the cut. I applaud Gary and the band for sticking together as band mates and brothers. I admire the way they support one another. More brownie points for my fav band. Wildness is fitting The songs make you want to get up and dance as you sing. It’s not as easy in my car though. He’s exposed himself by opening up. I think these interviews would be more difficult to open up to than with fans who love him. I mean we make him a lot of money, so he’s wise... I think his fans are more forgiving than the rest of the world. It’s nice to see how family and friends and life are what’s most important in his life now. To me that’s all that matters anymore, can’t go wrong there. The songs feel like they’re from happy carefree times we’ve all had. The ones that still make us smile and brighten up your day every time you hear it. They never get old. It always to see somebody get back up, even when you didn’t know they were down. You got this!

I am so happy that Gary has been keeping up his sobrierty. I absolutely adore the man and for me it strikes a strange but sad chord too. My ex fiancé was an alcoholic and drug addict. He could be the sweetest man when he wasn't on shit. But when he was, there was full blown narcissistic traits that came out and just a ton of emotional and psychological abuse towards me. I know that was all the shit he was taking and not really him but he never really thought he had a problem. He didn't think he had a problem at all despite losing job after job and trouble with the law. You'd never say that was the person he was when you met him in a clean episode. I'm so glad when I see people like Gary talk about getting clean and how it's made life better. Someone who truly acknowledges his demons and that being clean is the key to true happiness. It is also a bit hard being a fan of Gary with him also have those issues cos as silly as this sounds, one of the physical things about my ex that I loved was he kinda resembled a mix of Gary and also Graham Coxon. So when I watch this it kinda breaks my heart all over again. There's this weird heartache and soreness and ptsd as well. I don't know what else to say. But I thought I'd share this.

@MAD GRUMPYMAN I disagree. He would be the guy at the pub that everyone loves to hang around and chat with. He has an authentic charisma that shines thru everything he does. That’s why he is so great onstage. It’s in his soul.

I think I was probably 7 or 8 when I heard Chasing Cars and at that age obviously I didn't really understand what a "band" or "music artist" was. Then I was around 14 probably when I was really getting into bands and understanding music, so I went through every Snow Patrol album (because Chasing Cars had stuck with me) and picked out the songs I liked. Now I'm almost 20 and I like to think that I listen to the bands I do because obviously I like the sound, but I like them to a larger degree because the people are good people who make an effort to show who they are and write from their heart. And I think it's important to sometimes think about what the performers are going through because again it gives more meaning to the songs and simply because they're human too.

🇺🇸USA,Texas... Gary, love Snow Patrol's music & lyrics (not so crazy about F word bc want my grandkids 2b able to listen to all your masterpieces)! Am so happy you're sober & most of all that 'YOU ARE' happy being sober & w/clarity it has brought to you! Please give Christianity another try, please. It's not always Christians arguing w/Christians, & if it appears that way, it's usually from a place of love. Keep on making timeless & legendary music from a lifelong fan who's old enough 2b your mom (love to your mum)! Peace & love to you Gary Lightbody & all of the band members & team! My great grandpa was Irish & had blue eyes! Yay to the Irish & blessings to all!

I thank God that Gary has been able to confront his demons and come to terms with them. You could argue that God has already entered into Gary's life and I thank God for that
@jasonschoellen40905 жыл бұрын
I don't think he means literal demons. It was the stuff that troubled him in the past (confidence, drinking, etc.) that he's referring to. At this point in his life, he's learned to stand up to them and overcome them.
