Huckleberries are a wild berry that are very difficult to cultivate. They grow in pine forests, mostly in the north western US. They look similar to blueberries, but are smaller and more tart, with better flavor, at least in my opinion. To get them you have to know where to find a good picking place, and they are favored by wildlife in the area too, (Bears love them). This combination makes them a fairly rare treat but so worth the effort.
