It is so unusual to see Weber playing in complete silence, Im getting used to hear him grunting and grumbling all the time
@lynettepalecek31412 жыл бұрын
The reason why Pete Weber was quiet in this game is because the fans showed a lot more respect here.

Totally disagree the reason ABC dropped PBT was cutting their budget giving it to the espn. That sucked... chris and nelson burton were class... every sat afternoon at 230 was a tradition... just 90 mins every sat

I think that ball they are all using is the SeaWolf and as far as I'm concerned the only ball that looked as bad or worse on TV in those years was the orange piranha. In this show you can see several examples of good pocket shots that hit like a wet sponge and the piranha had the same problem. Remarkable that they force themselves to use the latest ball (for sponsorship money I am guessing?) rather than using what they are comfortable and confident with when bowling for all the money! I could never understand that.

ESPN screwed up the pbt... Abc.. made a huge mistake dropping the tour... why isn't marshall HOLMAN still bowling
@irishpogi4 жыл бұрын
Marshall is 66 years old and is doing something else with his life. Can you blame him? Have you seen the prize funds for PBA 50 tournaments lately? They were paying 8k back in the early 90's. Fast forward nearly 3 decades and what do you see?
@richardpoplis67774 жыл бұрын
@@irishpogi Marshall Holman could beat 80% of the pros today.. he had personality and a true competitor.. in the 80s.. roth.. holman.. Anthony were awesome.. abc dominated every Saturday afternoon..
@ckersh744 жыл бұрын
The Tour was in trouble before ABC parted ways. The reasons were quite simple: 1) bowling in general took a big downturn in the 80s and 90s, and 2) there wasn't exactly a lot of star power when compared to the 70s. I'll concede you Walter Ray Williams and Pete Weber, but the Norm Dukes and Jess Stayrooks of the world weren't going to make anyone spend a weekend afternoon watching in the 90s.
