Iris van Herpen ～ Biomorphism installation ～ Process film

For the Swarovski Kristallwelten Store in Vienna, Iris van Herpen designed five art spaces and larger-than-life jewelry titled 'Biomorphism'.
"The installations explore the phenomenon of lucid dreaming and the fine line between reality and illusion. During a lucid dream, dreamers are aware that they are dreaming and can thus exercise a certain degree of control over the course of the dream. “In the design process, I see lucid dreams as a microscope to my subconscious, uniting reality and the dream."

The art spaces are currently on display and will be open for the next two years. We warmly invite you to have a closer look at how the installations were created, shot by the extraordinary Ryan McDaniels.

The installation is curated by Carla Rumler, realized in collaboration with Rhea Thierstein, and created in collaboration with artists Tristan Schoonraad, Gracie Schoonraad, Valter Adam Casotto, Martina Sandonà, Bernd Weinmayer, Warren Du Preez, Nick Thornton Jones, and a very special thanks to Iekeliene Stange.

Wow never knew that Iekeliene Stange is still relevant and was an inspiration/muse to Iris! That’s so cool and shows that the top models of the early 2000s still have it in them! She was such a unique model with those razor sharp cheekbones and alien-esque face! A lot of the models of today are just so pedestrian compared to the ones from the 2000s. Iris is so unique and ethereal in her approach, love the work put into those art installations, same goes with her clothes!
