@leedshunk Shall we say, some of the "scenery" in Leeds ringing chambers is not too bad.

The squeaking must be the very high pitched trebles

I could hear hem fine through all the resonance. I could hear my bell was in the wrong place most of the time, too!

They are actually very easy to ring (there is no tower movement neither are there any gripe or grains). They are very heavy though and very unforgivening, the treble alone starts at just over 8cwt. To ring bells like this you really have to pull the handstrokes hard, and a long pull on the backstroke. That being said, the tenor does go well, a good tug on the backstroke and the handstroke just rises. But it is 3 tons so you do know about it!

I don't know, I havent rung the tenor. It will of course take a bit of effort as it is 3 tons, but considering it's weight it is reckoned to be quite an easy bell

Do you know how you film the bell tower of all these churches and cathedrals you go to do you get extremely special permission.

Does Mr Potter ever let anyone else ring the tenor? From all the videos it seems he's the only one allowed!

@irkibby aye , but a great medieval foundation has greater appeal than a victorian one x
