How hard is it without gtb?

It can be more challenging without gtb since you need to tank his attack for some time. You need more buffs, especially magically defensive ones like Fireproof Potion or Assumptio Scroll. You can also use Maelstorm on your feet to nullify his magic, but it can by annoying since he can teleport you around.
