I agree, liedar is amazing and iRobot definitely needs to put it in there roombas. But when it comes to pulling the most dirt out of your floors, Roombas haven't been beaten (according to vacuum wars, some youtube review, and me).

it has a floor tracker on the left side of the robot or right when it’s flipped over but the combo i5 is actually the original i3 and now the made the i3 into what used to be the i2

I have a roomba and a shark. For some odd reason my roomba’s front roller and brushes get clogged up quickly with my golden retriever’s hair. Oddly my shark’s rollers rarely get clogged up. Both are the newer designed brushes with wifi controls. My shark has mapping. Have you tested roomba for that issue?

Do y'all not pick stuff up before you vacuum? I've had the ecovavs deebot ozmo 950 for almost 4 years now. It finally broke because the caster wheel broke and i can't find a replacement for it. Anyways, i went shopping for another robo vac and found an unbelievable deal on a Roomba i5+ used like new for $200. I get that there's no lidar and you can't set no go zones but in my 4 years of using my deebot, i may have used the no go zones twice, for mopping. Otherwise i never used it. I say all that to say this: if you're fairly neat, which i assume most ppl who get robo vacs are, you don't have an obstacle course in your living room for the roomba to go through, so the non lidar tech in the i3 and i5 should be fine. More importantly, the proprietary dual brush patent in the roomba is what makes it worthwhile cause it cleans the shit out of carpets as well if not better than other machines. Latest doesn't always mean best.

very good points. I hope I trying to say that in my video. these do have a place and work if you are not concerned about obstacle avoidance. but thanks for letting me know some real world experience.
