Yay love these types of videos, putting the robots to their limits

Love my S9 - got it on sale before Christmas. Can't beat it. The higher suction really helps getting dust out of corners it doesn't necessarily touch directly as well as some of that fine dust that sticks to the floors. That said I recently got the Braava M6 and using the dusting mop on that is clutch. I have mostly hardwood and running them one after the other leaves the floors amazingly clean. I use the wet mop as well but just in the kitchen once or twice a week (no kids, no pets, shoes off house, so pretty clean already). Family room in basement is rug but it's soft and the fibers get wrapped around the S9 rollers so I only do that area every couple of weeks.

@Creation to invention The S7 is on Amazon already, but man, that Auto-Empty dock is what I'm waiting for Adam to review. I'm hoping that the dock will release on June 15th. Roborock mentioned that it will be released in the middle of June.

For the next gen Roomba, I'd like them to take a cue from smartphones and incorporate fast charging to reduce the downtime. Fast charging might keep the costs down over a bigger (and expensive) battery.

S9+ fan have had mine for about a year paired with a M6. What if you did this same test with the S9 on regular suction vs Max to eliminate the battery issue. I agree the battery on max drains as it should utilizing more power. Also the navigation on the roombas has gotten worst since I received them last year. What do you think?

Hi Adam. I thought of a test that might interest you for a future video. I saw a video on the roborock S7 and in the video the guy shows that the long brush underneath the S7 that sucks up the dirt. Can also work with the S5. But he doesn't do any tests with it. If you can. I would love to see how well the S7 brush works with the S5 to see if it makes any difference. Keep up the good work. Love your videos.

What, no fight to the death? There can only be one! But seriously, my only suggestion is to incorporate some obstacles in the test room. Tricky (obviously not real) wall patterns and different levels of overhangs. That'll help test the mapping and navigation ability of the bots. There's some bots that map really weird (Wyze as of latest updates) and others that refuse to go under obstacles they can fit under for some reason. As for the successor to the S9+, they really need to bring a bigger battery, and forward obstacle awareness (cam or lidar). Even cheaper Chinese botvacs are starting to show up with that.

Soooo....S9 vacuum motor starting making VERY loud noise, and now no suction (or noise). In touch with @iRobot they think it is the cleaning head unit, they are wrong but I will go through the motions with them. Still under warranty so fingers crossed.

@@AdamsReviews Alright, they sent me the new cleaning head unit and as expected it did not solve the problem. In fact before the cleaning head got here the vacuum motor stopped working altogether. Interesting thing to note is that neither the online support person, nor the person I spoke with on the phone understood that there was a vacuum motor inside the unit. So, when you call support, be prepared that you know the robot better than they do. End result is they are shipping out a new robot.

I’d like to see the i9+ have the better battery like you mentioned but also maybe a less flimsy side brush? I almost wonder how competitive the Roborock and Deebot would be if they had the self empty bin and ditch the mopping feature (nobody needs)
@IanB10153 жыл бұрын
Didn’t mean self empty bin, rather the full bin sensor that the Roomba seems to be the only one to have.
@AdamsReviews3 жыл бұрын
iRobot has a patent on the bin sensor...thats why no one else has it. yes mops are useless

If you don't need virtual walls, or keep out zones, then I'd say the i3+. Same cleaning power as i6+. Same battery life. Same empty and resume or charge and resume. Same imprint link with the M6 mop. My house is small, so I don't need directed room cleaning as the i3 will clean the entire downstairs in about 45 minutes and entire upstairs in about the same time. And from what I've seen the actual clean mapping accuracy of my i3 is pretty spot on when compared to the map that is created by my M6 mop.. Amazon used acceptable as of 6/11/2021... $283.00
@xraargu62123 жыл бұрын
I got my parents the i3+ and they love it. They just press the button (no chance they are using the app) when they want to start it and it just runs around their entire hard wood floor condo. Thinking that is all I need for the 2nd floor of my house.
@williamthomas61063 жыл бұрын
@@xraargu6212 I had 2 692's which worked just fine for my house. Both floors are small enough to be covered by a "Random bot'. But the 692 is a bit "hard" on furniture, and isn't very good at finding it's way out from underneath a dining room set. Bull, meet china shop. But it least it will be clean. It's something I could have lived with except that I found some i3's (without clean bin) for $167.00 each used. That was too good to pass up. I was half expecting to return them, quite frankly. But I really do like the i3 so much better. Quieter, more refined, and much more "post cleaning" information available from the app. Plus my i3 is better at not getting stuck. The i3 is much better in "low clearance" scenarios and with the dining room chair maze.
