This is a great test, thank you for taking the time to do it but here's the thing, you can always vacuum more dust out of a carpet. It's the reason that Kirby vacuum salesmen always have the homeowner go first with their old vac. Also, in the words of old Dyson ads, "as the vacuums filters get clogged, their max suction decreases" which puts the first vac at an immediate disadvantage. The dirtier the carpet, the bigger the disadvantage to the first vac. To test this you could reverse the order of the vacuums and see if the results are similar. My bet is the two robot vacs pic up even after you clean the room with the Dyson vacuum and the Dyson picks up more still if you do an additional last pass after the robots. Still an awesome video, I wish I could hit the like button twice.

You can't go wrong with the S9 when it comes to cleaning ability. The Deebot technically has more airflow, but the S9 has more actual suction. Paired with those extractors iRobot puts in it, it's just amazing. I managed to get mine to run without the bin inside, and I put my hand on the suction port which would normally be behind the dust bin. It pulled my hand onto the hole with great force. Amazing suction. My S9 cleans up my dog's hair better than my commercial grade upright vacuum. No joke. It's insane for a robot vacuum. Love these tests. You deserve more subscribers. Keep up the great work!

The dual brushes really does make a difference! That’s why I now think the Deebot T9 AIVI with iRobot design dual brush will now beat the S9. Only reason iRobot doesn’t require much suction power is that dual brushes. But now that T9 AIVI has that… it SHOULD perform better with 3000 Pa

I don't draw the conclusion you do from this test. I think either vacuum would leave some on the first run, and I think either vacuum would pick up more after the second run regardless of the order of use.

I think you should do the same type of test but make it more precise by having a specific amount of dust or debris and have each vac clean twice, then on third run see if any more dirt or debris is picked up and then see the difference between each vac. Because your test i think if you ran the deebot or S9 a third time you would get more dust on there third run. Thanks

According to Vacuum Wars, the Deebot T8 (At least the AIVI) has more power than the Roomba S9+. Airflow wise, the Deebot has 24 CFM where as the Roomba s9+ has 22 CFM. But the roombas are kings of carpets, so I think the s9 might find some deep down debris.

Brought the Roomba s9 and it’s been nothing but trouble. The customer service reps iRobot are nice people (based in Dominica) but every call takes 45 minutes to an hour including waiting time. The robot constantly gets stuck (error 31) and is now have problems connecting to the internet. I think I’m sending mine back. I’ve had to call their tech support five bloody times and the thing is still not working.

Oh my gosh.. I just spent over$1000 for the ecovac!!! I'm so confused.. I watched another review on the I robot and the guy used it for 18 months and wouldn't buy it again... He recommended the ecovac.. so I went with it.. I'm so confused!
@a9653192
@a9653192 3 жыл бұрын
Don’t be confused! ECOVACS are amazing products. The new ECOVACS T9 AIVI has the same dual brushes the S9 have. And it has more suction power, comes with OZMO pro 2.0, also does air freshening while vacuuming and can also use the auto empty station. In my opinion, it’s better than the iRobot S9!
@Glammamaw
@Glammamaw 3 жыл бұрын
I bought the ecovacs with the auto emptying and the mop... I'm happy with the vacuum but disappointed with the auto emptying and the mop... I sent the auto emptying unit in for repair... It wouldn't empty.. came back and it works once in a while... But mostly not... The mop was an extra$100 and it streaks no matter if using disposable or regular mop pads. Grrr
@a9653192
@a9653192 3 жыл бұрын
@@Glammamaw was the station clogged? The auto empty station does a great job for most jobs, it just doesn’t handle hair and pet hair well. The fix for those two issues is to essentially close one of the 2 holes. It’ll force all the hair and pet hair to one side when emptying. The OZMO pro was only designed to clean up light mopping jobs. What I found more useful is to use my swifter wet jet mop… not to mop around or anything, but to just spray the cleaner on my kitchen floor. Put a disposable pad on the OZMO pro (the reusable one that comes with the T8 actually fits) and have it go around clean up the wet floor. Doing it this way though, you gotta set the water to lowest possible setting. Hope this helps!

I have the T8 AIVI. A lot of trouble setting it up as I have a Chinese one but OK now. I would say it's good but these are more of an easy, hands-free maintenance thing. Still need to hoover and mop by hand now and then, but a lot less often with your little helper. I'm not convinced the vision thing is necessary, and don't like that it can send the video online...

Costco has the Deebot T8 on sale for $599. The cheapest I'm finding the Roomba s9+ is $899. Is paying $300 more worth it? I'm looking for one that does well on carpet. Also, do you find much of an advantage with the square edge style vs the full circle style of the robot?

If you carpet is thick the s9 is not good...but regular carpet it has amazing suction. The square helps a little in corners but is not a must have,,,the self empty bin is a must have!

Its an interesting test. However if you ran the T8 2 times in a row or S9 2 times as well. They would probably find as much debris as you did in the test one robot after each other. The crevice test that Vaccum Wars have for their robot tests are a better indicator of their suction power. However I'm of the impression that the S9 , Samsung or the Neato are better suction robots since they have their much wider intake in the front and not between the wheels. Problem with that construction is they don't like light rugs or tassels on rugs.

@@AdamsReviews that’s what I’m telling you though, with the new model T9 AIVI, it literally takes iRobots only advantage (dual brushes) and incorporates it. So now you have the most powerful suction robot vaccum, with iRobots dual brush design, with auto emptying, and comes with OZMO pro. So yeah it’s better than the S9. The one last advantage the Roomba has is the full bin sensor and auto empty.

@@AdamsReviews for example the S9 has 2500pa suction power, T9 has 3000pa. Last I checked, S9 doesn’t immediately mop with an attachment, yet another advantage to the Deebot. Look I’m not saying S9 is bad, however you did a review that doesn’t match Deebots latest model. A more suited review would be against the T9 AIVI or T9+ You also forgot to mention the price difference, the T8 (older model) comes with a lot more accessories and cheaper. Just giving you my 2 cents
