OMG, I have been searching for how to open the bin on this model all OVER KZbin, with no avail until now! Everyone has the convenient button that opens that door. Mine looked really sketchy to open, and wasn't budging, yet had a hinge on the opposite side, so I was contemplating on if I wanted to test the limits on that green side or not. Thank you for showing this. Although you made it look really easy to open...Ill go try mine again now that I know its supposed to open that way. Thank you!

Bro nice setup behind you. Love that tower. I just got the i5+ after my neato botvac decided it didn't want to work for free anymore. It was a bad worker, after his shift there would still be bits of crystal kitty litter on our hardwood floors. Just did the mapping feature and it's doing it's first shift now. Gonna see how it does and then I'll try the mop feature. This one is crazy fast, can't wait to see how it does.

Why did you need to clean the dust bin? Doesn’t it go to the self empty tank? Also, can this sucks up bunny poop?

Yes it self emptied. I only emptied the bin so you could see what it vacuumed up!!! It would probably vacuum up most of the bunny poop if it was small enough. If the poo is too soft though that could get messy!

On our first floor, we have two rooms that are carpet and two that are hardwood. If we want to clean the entire floor should we map the rooms and only mop designated hardwood rooms?

I'm new to the combo units...but wouldn't all the hard floor grime, then gets wiped off onto your carpets?

So since the mop can't lift out of the way it will make contact with carpets. Wiped on the carpets is too strong of a word but sure if you mopped up chocolate syrup on your head floor and went right to carpets it will transfer some 😂

How long should we charge it for the first usage? can you explain how working it as the first time?

Let it fully charge. It only needs a few hours then start cleaning! Don't over think it!

It’s a good robot. iRobot is a great brand. But I wish I have bought the i7 instead i5 combo. The combo bin doesn’t work well. I almost don’t use.

$200 it is worth it! j5+ is better due to obstacle avoidance but for $200 you can't go wrong with the i5!!!

I have a few questions. I found this video SUPER helpful! First, if I take it to the second floor, do I bring the charging dock with me? Second, I have a baby gate blocking the kitchen and there’s a one inch lip across the bottom,So it’s a barrier, would I pick it up over that or move the dock? Third and similar to Q 2, my living room has a stupid 2.5 inch step down separating it from the rest of the house (why?!?), again, can I lift it down that step and let it clean or do I have to move the dock? Thanks so much!!

So glad this was helpful for you! So you can really do it however you want but I would recommend just leaving the home base in a set spot and then just moving it to the second floor, over the baby gate, down the 2.5 step etc. Then when it is done you will just bring it back to the base!

I literally watched the videos this guy made for the roomba combo i5 and i5+ and he literally says the exact same thing during time stamp 7:00 did you just insert the same clip from the previous video to make this video? how do we know he even tested this vac and his opinion is actually authentic....

The i5 and i5+ are identical units the only difference is the + in the model number signifies the self empty base!!! Nothing is different performance or spec wise!

If the wheels are lower than the 2 brushes, how do the brushes get into the carpet to pickcup dirt?🤔

The wheels are spring loaded and the brushes make full contact with the ground!

Yes! It has 2 dustbins so you can just use the full one without the mopping and just vacuum!

Can Roomba i5+ detect and avoid mopping over the area rug in a room ? Are you sure it has option to add multiple maps, like main floor & 1st floor ?

No it can't detect and avoid mopping over rugs or carpets. In regards to multi level mapping it only supports one map at a time but is really easy to swap out as needed imo!

Very similar! The ECOVACS will have more advanced navigation, better mopping and cost a little less!
