please do another NORMAL test of s5 vs s9, without large debris, in auto mode - let us know how they compare in doing their REAL TASK of removing the dust (not the cereals)

My friend hates to admit this to her friends, but this was her favorite Christmas present. kzbin.infoUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g While I used to do the floors, since she hated doing them, this has changed things in our house. In one easy to use motion it sucks, dampens, cleans and dries the floor with a super clean and walk on a minute later surface. Load up the tank with solution and water to make it ready is about all you have to do. The big tank setting will do our kitchen, dinning room, hallway and entry with no problems.We do a light vacuum or sweep first to get rid of the big stuff, but if you floor isn't that bad, you wouldn't have too. We have kids, dog, neighbor kids, and winter crud, so our floors are usually that bad. It will handle anything, but just gets dirty faster and more hair is why we might get the big stuff. We can do everything from pulling it out to sucking to cleaned up in about 30 minutes, so it makes it quick and easy. Biggest thing is the floors are pretty much dry after you move the vacuum over them. No tracking, waiting, or foot prints everywhere. Cleaning is easy with sink rinse and let it air out a bit to dry. 5 minutes to cleanup and set to dry.I give credit to my sister, as she is a professional clean freak and this is her baby with about 1,000 sft of floor that has to be cleaned. She LOVES this and that is why we now have one. Great buy!

I have had a S9+ for 2 months now and it has worked great with no issues. I run it every other day. We have a short haired dog which does shed. Of course, I don’t pick up cereal. I like it a lot.

Mate you do some real good work on these tests I admire your work. And you also are one of the 5 youtubers that inspired me to make a tech KZbin channel. Love your work. Ps I really need to buy a s5... one day.

My shredder is sensitive & won’t start when there is some paper shreds that got under the basket until I wipe it clean. Before replacing the inner compartment did you need to wipe the interior surface before placing the inner portion back in??? I thought I saw some particles there.

I'm eyeballing the S5 Max and all we have is Tile floor, no carpet at all (might get some throw rugs though) just found your channel, not sure if you have reviewed the S5 max?

What ever happened to the shark r101ae? Did you end up returning it again? Will you compare it to the i7+.

Been enjoying your videos. For some reason I've been on a kick watching videos of robo vacuums. Was wondering if you could do a video on a Deebot 900 or 901 if you have a functioning one around. Whatever cereal you use for these tests, I think cause of its shape, just gets jammed so easily. Where it is in the bin in the S9 too looks like its out of the path of the airflow, so that's likely why it doesn't get sucked up. If you have to hit the dust bin against the ground to dislodge it, it's probably not going to be sucked up by just airflow. When it was clumped up in the back of the bin, was it blocking the bin full sensor?

You asked and I would like to see the video @ faster speeds. Good video.

Losing its job memory is a serious issue for a robot vacuum of this price. Couldn't agree more!

Check the base, I had this happen with my i7 and what happened was a piece of cardboard had partially blocked the suction hole in the base, which then clogged it up. Maybe something similar happened to you, worth a look. Honestly when listening to it suck out the robot, the noise sounds weird which is why I’m guessing the base suction line, good luck!

Wonder if there has been a change, I have seen other reviews where there S9 auto bin sucked up all the jelly beams.
@bbq4fun7893 жыл бұрын
This is an interesting review if you are in the habit of spreading cereal around your house. A better example would be everyday dirt, sand, and pet hair. Unfortunately that would cause the S9 to win.
@pourartistacrylicsbyshanno39872 жыл бұрын
If you have kids or pets this is pretty relevant. Perhaps not in these amounts but kids spill cereal and pets tend to knock pet food around. I'm not fond of the idea of my robot crushing it for me.

Can you do this with the shark IQ

Really good video showing the weird flaws on the Roomba. Definitely not worth the price even with the self emptying docking station. I'm so satisfied with my Roborock S6 even tho it has a small bin. I also have a Neato and its bin is huge compared to the S6. Best thing with the Roborock is that it cleans so fast you can easily make it do 2 runs in the same time as another robot do 1 run.

Have you checked what it is actually made from internally? It's interesting.

The close rollers on the s9 can cause it to hitch up a bit on larger debris, and sometimes very dense material like sand or pebbles can fail to get emptied from the bin completely, but Vacuum Wars did a very similar cereal test on theirs without significant incident, so something's gotta be wrong with the one you got. Did you check the rollers after this test (for jams and possible manufacturing defects like the one Robot Masters brought up)? The base definitely shouldn't have trouble emptying out the cereal either, so I'd check for blockages in the airflow in both the base and bot, or damage/defects that could be letting air leak into the vacuum path between the bin and the bag.
@RobotMasters4 жыл бұрын
HAst Yeah I suspect it the bent housing that causing the grinding noise on the hardwood floors and the self emptying bin problems. Did I miss it, I don’t think the s9 activated the dirt detection sensor?
@hadrast4 жыл бұрын
@@RobotMasters I don't recall it doing the dirt detect dance either. It was also navigating a bit strangely near the end, so maybe it was getting internal errors (from the rollers?) or something that were affecting its behavior. It left a strangely large amount of debris behind it too, even for the low suction setting. Something definitely seems wrong with that s9.

Roborock s5 is probably the best all around vac made to date. There are great ones being made that will surpass it but for the price I love my s5.

For its price, its specs are very attractive

I was just saying that the Roborock would have time to do 2 runs before the S9+ do 1 run (and would probably pick up 99% of the cereal) and you just said that in the video at 25.50 haha :P Roborock is the clear winner, i agree! I got the Roborock S5 Max a couple of days ago and I could'nt be happier!

Can you make a video of the Roborock s7 wen it comes out
@camachof874 жыл бұрын
I guess that if the s9 left so much dust on the hard floor by crushing the cereal, it's logical to think that the same results happened on the carpet, it's just harder to see it there because it got embedded in the pile. I don't know, but the s9 is a hard sell for the price.
@Matte14864 жыл бұрын
Did you ever find out if the software is up to date? I am referring to when the s9 seems to be completely lost (minute 25)

Iove my Roborock S5 the only downfall is the high maintenance, From the Filters to the cliff sensors, if you cant maintain the maintenance then i suggest you leave Roborock alone
@vallenza34194 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but this test is non-sense, just too many cereals and these robots are for the home dust, they are not industrial robots / also, you force them on ECO mode it's like cutting their balls... should have been in auto mode or strong mode for the carpet - and yes, you are right, the s9 is weak on large debris compared to your expectations that are WRONG because those are made to catch the dust at home... not the cereals
@AdamsReviews4 жыл бұрын
Canale di Giovanna it’s cereal lol you don’t think kids make a big mess with cereal around the kitchen table? If any robot can’t handle some Cereal then we have A big problem.
@bbq4fun7893 жыл бұрын
If I have a kid throwing that level of cereal around the area, i have a parenting issue, not a vacuum issue

Let them both on auto detect carpet,.. you can't expect vacuum robots to clean carpets on low power,.. when you'l do that you'll get a like from me. Vacuum wars test are more precise unfortunatelly than yours.

That Cereal you used... has odd shapes... that lock together like a lock and key... When wedged correctly... They will not dislodge easily! Manual emptying is your only course of action if your house is full of this type of debris... I also recommend TEACHING YOUR KIDS SOME FLIPPIN RESPECT and not dump shit everywhere! I have 3 children and have NEVER had a mess like the ones you put down... and using large puffed DRY STALE corn-based cereal... is not exactly a fair test for maintenance bots. They are not there to clean up a dump site... they are there to MAINTAIN an already kept up room... with minor debris negotiating! Instead of this insane and ridiculously large debris... I would like to see bots pick up pre-measured dirt, dust, and pet hair. Then after each run measure, the amount picked up!
