iRobot Roomba S9+ super LOUD after replacing brushes. PART 2

I'm using iRobot Authentic Replacement Parts - Roomba s Series Replacement Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes.

its MUCH LOUDER now than EVER!!! After examing a bit closer because it was giving me migraine headaches. I notice the STAR rubber brush is super shifty. I can easily move right and left when clamped down the lock. Anyone have the same problem???

I am having the same issue. The brush replacement (from irobot, not a cheaper one) was .5cm shorter than the original brush. Moves around a lot. Shocking noise. By moving the insert of the brush (pulling the grey inner bit back and forth) till it clicked, I was at least able to make the brush rigid (rather than bouncy moving end - loose and wiggly as another described), a bit more like the other brush. It reduced the noise a little bit, but not much, and still terrible compared to the original brush.

I know that this comment is a year later but I just ordered the rollers from the irobot store on amazon and they were not like the original so I sent them back and ordered direct from the Irobot site and they fit perfectly no play like yours. I had also ordered some earlier from temu and had to return them as they had ends that were very different. I sent them back too

When using the aftermarket rollers take the 2 foam rolls from inside the old dark green roller and put them into the new dark green roller. It’s only the dark green roller making the noise

There’s a difference with the knock off rollers but the other thing is the new roller blades hang down and sag but I just found another video that showed how to repair it I’m gonna try that

the noise could be coming from the light green roller, due to how loose and wiggly it is.

I fixed mine by cutting off a half centimeter of the plastic on either side of the outer part of the brush.

I think they’re simply just rubbing each other really hard which is creating the noise but I would not really know because I don’t own an S9+

i changed the new OEM rollers and its still loud. Recommend running it when you're not home if you find the noise a nuisance.

Its the motor and gears, not the brushes. I cant figure it out either.

I adjusted the cleaning behavior in settings to quiet cleaning and it seemed to have help. Try that!

@@yanlymontalvo8822 Make sure to update your app to the latest version. I believe the option is in the settings area for the S9; there are three suction options with advice as to which one to use.

you cant anymore. there used to be a setting for quiet vacuum. its gone now in the new software app.

Use the medium/balanced mode to make it quieter

when. i get my roomba s9, i'm never gonna be replacing the brush rollers until they either get cut in half or something else happens. LMAO
