excellent I lived out there for nearly 30 years. My sole means of travel was horse/s. Left society after having served during conflict, and flew as a corporate pilot. Flew in Central / South America as a contract pilot. Was unable to adjust to civilian life so I left for the Mountains of the North West. Worked Ranches, farms during the winters, then saddled my horse and pack horses and continued travels from Oregon to as far south as Texas, then back again, traveling in the seasons. Stayed for 3 winters traveling between Taos to Silver City, living in the Gila Wilderness. This movie was as true to life as it gets. No fake imagined drama. Just raw truth. I could feel it! I was there in those seasons year around.

A 'Smith' - sonian production! Credits are an eye opener. Great flick. Pathosis, survival, risk, reward, adventure of course. I just had a thought that the colonials of North America took the indigenous land, There is, in me, an understanding that the Indians didn't want them there. So Who is the villain? just my thought as a white convict, 3 generations, in Australia from Irish,, indigenous, stock, who England invaded. Our indigenous do it tough.

❤Unheeded, was he of "hot-head" status, costing him Lily, "the only Female (horse), he'd ever known".I would think he'd take meat from the horse, before wolves, bears and lions, get it, rather than saddle.Why would they stick around at all, after encountering hostile natives (Shoshone)? Honestly, why would they separate at all (beginning of the end, everytime? Otherwise, loved it, wolves howling to start, remind me, how we restored ("legalized") the wolf in the Rockies, again, with the governor naming the first two cubs after me, Jon and Jane, then a gold mine, the following summer, ha😂
