Iron Butterfly plays Pirates World in the film Musical Mutiny

MiamiSprings Memories - Iron Butterfly plays "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" at Pirates World. An excerpt from the movie Musical Mutiny. It has various scenes of Pirates World and South Florida and many fans rushing the gates. This clip is lip-synced and like most bands of the day they were not particularly fond of doing so. Ron Bushy didn't care much about imitating his own drum solo and it shows. He's seems on the verge of laughter most of the time. The director used many "groovy" cutaways to cover this up especially on his drum solo. I inserted images of Pirates World where I could. So if you missed Erik Braun, Ron Bushy, Lee Dorman, Doug Ingle as Iron Butterfly playing at Pirates World this is about as close as you will get. If you did see them, then enjoy the memories. The premise - A ghost of a Caribbean pirate rises from his resting-place to visit his old haunt. Finding it covered by an amusement park, and seeing that Iron Butterfly is giving a concert, he decides to liven things up by opening the gates and letting screaming fans in for free. My mom always went to concerts at this venue when she was a teenager she once saw the James gang Joe Walsh gave her a sticker that said James gang rides again and he put it on her

I SAW IRON BUTTERFLY 1 TIME IN 1969 AT A W.V.O.K. RADIO SHOW FOR $10.50 A TICKET ME & A CLASSMATE PAL WENT ,& THEY WERE IN SUPPORT OF THE NEW RELEASED METAMORPHOSIS ALBUM ,& THIS SONG WAS THE LAST SONG AN ANCOR SONG,THEY HAD FINISHED ,& CAME BACK FOR THIS 1 SONG AS THE REAL LAST SONG OF THAT SHOW.

they shot that with no crowd. we, the new society band played for the crowd shots. it was in the miami herald. have the clippings. all the fender amps were rented by ace music, delivered by harold,rip. this was the time that they heard pinera with the blues image and from what i remember.. gave him $100 grand and a porsche. i'll let mike answer if that is true.

That was not a live performance. I remember Mark Markham and the JEsters, Boot, GAme and especially Pirates World. Grand Funk, Led Zeppelin, Johnny WInters, Smith, Chambers Brothers.... the list could go on. We hung out there all the time.

Wow I thought my mom was B.S.ing me. Wow I can't believe it was there not many have ever spoken about this place through the late 70s or 80s. We all knew this land was called Pirates world and all that was left in 84 was 2 rusted out bumper carts left in the sand. ... wow!!!

Pirate's World was on Sheridan Street (in Dania bordering Hollywood FL,) east of US1 and west of the intracoastal on the north side of the road. There is a large multi apartment and condo complex there now. The waterways are still there. My band opened for many concerts there.
