This reg F will be crazy. There is so many strong pkm to build a team now. Tornshifu may be checked by raging bolt. Fast psyspam with iron crown. Hard press may be a strong option for light weight steel pokemon to 1 shot flutter. Gouging fire burning in protect. Mighty cleave going through protect. Walking wake giving water cover in sun teams. So many strong plays to make and to counter

QOTD: I have been enjoying support spectrier a lot so far, especially on a team with p2 and Raging Bolt. With will-o-wisp, snarl, and haze it can shut down a lot of early-meta strats such as archaludon stamina, plus its damage negation allows for raging bolt to get off calm minds with ease much of the time. Being immune to fake out is an added bonus, will-o-wisps into iron hands and rillabooms are usually pretty free.

lol the first team featured is one of the Victory Road rentals I was testing on Showdown. The opponent didn’t get to show it off, but the main strategy is to have Malamar use Skill Swap onto Hydrapple to get Contrary (boosting Leaf Storm and Draco Meteor) and re-activate Supersweet Syrup for another -1 Evasion. That way, Malamar can get consistent Hypnosis hits under Trick Room. Not really consistent, but its fun/gimmicky to pull off

The big strategy I’ve been in love with at the moment has been a set-up offense team using Blaziken, my first Pokemon ever, my competitive singles savior throughout the years, and finally making its way to VGC now that I’ve really begun to understand double battles after a long winded break and skipping out on Sword and Shield. I finally have a team I’m more than comfortable with- it just took a literal year and the second wave of DLC to find that magic again. Loving the format so much!

For the QOTD: outside of like a balance/offensive core, I also made a Psy Terrain team with Crown and Expanding force so seeing this is pretty nice. Tho I did it with I Def and CM just for longevity. And yeah, Incineroar is tough to deal with Crown outside of Tera so I like that consideration. Hatterene is also a consideration, if not competition, for Iron Crown since it also got Expanding Force but Crown is underrated. Thank you for covering it!

The first team is Foofootoo's most recent team showcase, even lead the same way Foo recommends. The idea is to skill swap contrary onto Hydrapple for +2 boosting Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm. Bonus points if you then skill swap Supersweet Syrup onto an opponent, giving Hydrapple an evasion boost. But the opponent forgot to do the main thing the gimmick is built around and lost immediately haha.

Hey Aaron, I am dying to see a good Dragon Cheer team. I really do think there's some value in it with some heavy hitting Pokemon like Roaring Moon but I can't find a core I like.

Can always do the classic Scope Lens + Draco Meteor with cheer on a support instead of Focus Energy. In that vein there are some bulkier mons with cheer that work well (Hydrapple which also helps accuracy, Milotic to punish Intimidaters and provide Icy Wind for example) and your pick of strong SpA dragons with various pros and cons (Hydreigon, Walking Wake probs in sun, Kingdra in rain, Archaludon for steel stab for fairies and stamina/stalwart, etc)

@@bengladwell4341 Warning: lots of text Well… the main core of Spectrier, Arcanine, Grimmsnarl, Gastrodon stayed the same at first. I swapped the Galarian Moltres and Gholdengo at the time for Tyranitar + Lycanroc another good combination at the time (keep in mind it was still reg D). I did pretty ok with it and got up to ultra at which point I stopped playing Pokémon for a while. Now for regulation F I’ve adjusted the team quite a bit. Due to the really unfavorable circumstances that are the big 4 (Lando-T, Flutter Mane, Incineroar, Urshifu-Rapid) I have removed the Tyranitar Lycanroc duo. Took me a while to figure out what mons I wanted to replace them with. Until I stumbled across two new Pokémon in the dlc. The first is regenerator choice specs Hydrapple which is both severely underrated and hilariously stupid. It essentially replaces the role Gholdengo had in the original build. It’s an immediate threat on the field that is way more powerful than one’s expect and sticks around forever. The other replacement is Iron Boulder. This guy is essentially the physical version of Spectrier on the team. It gets access to Sword Dance and taunt. I actually didn’t give it protect as its defenses are amazing once invested in and with booster energy + max speed it can outspeed most non Flutter mane threats some even under tailwind. For attacking moves I gave it its signature mighty cleave which ruins protect spamming players and psycho cut which is the most consistent physical Psychic stab it gets access to. The crit chance is also situationally good vs the stray uncommon Dondozo. Finally I at some point removed Gastrodon as I had more than enough ways to live against Urshifu with both Spectrier surviving Tera Surging strikes thanks to sitrus and setting up (the only variant spec fears is choice scarf) and Hydrapple with its good natural bulk and typing laughs at every Urshifu move that isn’t Ice spinner (Though even that can be lived with Grimmsnarl support). So I switched Gastrodon for Milotic. It single-handedly ruins both Incineroar and Lando-T with competitive. It has similar bulk to Gastrodon and is even bulkier on the special side which let’s it live quite outrageous hits (I have EV’d it to always survive at least one electric attack from Raging Bolt with the Proto synthesis boost). The more important thing is the move pool. Milotic learns all of Icy wind, Scald, and Haze which each have great utility. Milotic also similar to Gastrodon before it still fulfilled the role of temporary Urshifu stop as it survives Urshifu’s stab hits well and can threaten a burn on it. So my team currently is: Spectrier Hydrapple Arcanine-Hisui Grimmsnarl Iron Boulder Milotic
