The more of these you can save, the better. Hard to believe:- they sold well and used to be everywhere. Now you're lucky to see one in a two year period.

Always blew me away when I first arrived down under that these cars came with such big engines. Biggest we got in the northern hemi was a 2.3

LTD is looking soo good , u have done a brilliant job with it, the Corty is a beast, ur soo lucky to get it back, I owned my TE for 26 years and then stupidly sold it 3 years ago, 1 of the BIGGEST mistakes I have EVER made, looking forward to seeing what u do with ur Corty. Keep up the great shows.

My granddad bought one new:- dark brown with a mustard interior, GL with 3-3 six and 3 on floor. He got 8 good years out of it before selling. He was always a Ford guy:- old 1930's Ford coupe, 1940's Ford jailbar truck, 1961 XK Falcon sedan, plus others. He NEVER had a Holden. The press gave some of these models a bad wrap, but his vehicles served him well.

Cool car, had a te ghia 250 4 speed with my first wife. Fast car lowered and deep dish wheels. She took it with here when she left. Miss that car but not the ex. Lol.

A mate of mine had one of these back in the day. It was a weapon! Loved to be driven hard and was solid as a rock. If only we knew how hard these are to find now. Especially ones without boat loads of rust. But yeah at the time i had an ZK Fairlane and was always jealous of my mates Tina.

Had a few Cortinas back in the day, great size car, The wagon TF was a 3.3 standard petrol compression engine, rebuilt it with a 4.1 crank, rods and pistons, alloy XF unleaded head from the wreckers and inlet manifold with the 2 barrel weber, great power and torque, went quite quick

We had several te/tf crossflow 4 speed cortinas in my family back in the day. Sad they are gone. T5 is a good mod. The other big fly in the ointment was being chronically undersprung in the suspension. Needs waaaay stiffer springs up front to handle in any sort of safe fashion. Would own again!

Subbed purely because I saw the TE, my favourite car end of story. The xflows go hard when done right and the first thing you need to do is swap that cast head over to a C1 alloy head, 4brl manifold and 465 vac sec carb 👍

Had a 10 minute or so drive of a 1982 or 1983 Cortina sedan with the 250 c.i. 6 cylinder engine with auto trans back around 1985. My recall then was that it would give the Falcon XE 351 a run for its money so to say. Good power to weight for its time. I had a Falcon XE 351 manual from 1984 to 1993. Cheers 🦘

My TF had 250 crossflow, alloy head, 465 Holley Four speed manual. She was my first car I was still on my P's. I raced a guy in an old 70's Falcon off the lights once don't know what he had under the bonnet but it sounded like a v8 and I pulled away from him by heaps but I just thought he just let me win.

Had a few old cortys back in the day, in nz the falcon powered ones were rare as hens teeth, the 2.3 v6 was the more common six cylinder. While the 2.0 is a lot slower I reckon they drive so much nicer than the 4.1 powered ones. Even had a 1.3 mk3, and a v4 mk3 at one point, they were terrible cars.

My 4.1 was lowered stiff springs. zero body roll around corners. I loved that thing torque for days.

Add a XF alloy II head(E1?) mild cam n springs and 465 Holley make them a real weapon... although strengthen the floor area around the rear suspension mounts, they were never intended to take the ooomph of a warm XFlow(like most flimsy pommy mobiles). Use to be fun back in the days of Cortys and Cennys... the late 70s early 80s V8's of those days had little chance

That's what my TF had.She was my first car. Plus it was lowered with stiff suspension and anti roll bars, it had zero body roll around corners. It was a freaking rocket. I once dragged an old v8 Falcon at the lights and I pulled away from him by heaps but I thought he just let me win. Heres a 250 crossflow in a Falcon. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYTdnKWNoa6ErJI
