I think it’s a nice departure from existing designs while still keeping reverence for the core character. One thing that keeps the hobby fresh is new interpretations, and at this scale and price point there’s more freedom to experiment.

I agree Bobby, I think it works well enough as an IDW Cliff, I really only remember him early on in their Furman and Costa stories so he definitely didn't have a real iconic look, the head appears to match him pretty well so that's good for me in regards to that aspect. Looks like a neat figure and I love the fact he has the bazooka / stand in for his classic glass gas gun, I'll likely pick him up when I get a chance. Thanks for the review 👍

If it eases your concerns at all, the layout of this Cliffjumper matches the early "-ations" Bumblebee to a T: forearm doors, rear bumper as shoes, headlight shoulders, hood chest, whole 9 yards. I preferred that look over the door wings anyway. Cliffjumper alone looks stellar

Looks good. I like the new slotted hands. I think it looks good on CJ

You should probably have a doc check out that tingling.

For bumblebee, I think it will be simple enough to remold the arms, so the doors hang off the back of the shoulders instead of the forearms.

I believe they said they will not use this mold for Bumblebee
@jonathanbrown9434 жыл бұрын
Like others have said, it sounds like IF will not be repainting this as Bumblebee. Of course, the translation is iffy as always. I think this looks like a good IDW representation of CJ, not sure the spidey sense is warranted yet.

I’m probably wildly off on this but Iron Factory is starting to feel like BadCube. They pioneered with a few unique designs but New Age and Magic Square is setting the table now with their mini MP designs. There may be a drop in enthusiasm for Iron Factory and their stylized design as a result. I think dabbling in beast wars may be a way to set themselves apart.

As long as they round out and VW up the feet, the chest and the rear of the car, I'm fine with this guy being Bee--though not sure how that will really affect the transformation.

The buzz I’ve heard is that IF is planning something special with Bumblebee and that he’s not a repaint.

I hope this isn't used for a Bee for the very reasons you stated. I would accept a Bugbite out of this mold like they did Dustfog out of the Wheeljack mold. While Cliff's alt mode doesn't fit in the comics other than that pic you showed i think the mini cooper was the way to go over the penny racer porsche which really would of made the vehicle mode outta place in the IDW style. Cliff in IDW was under utilized IMO. His Spotlight was one of the better ones, he had a few shining spots in AHM, and he's a Patton Oswalt fan in the International Incident storyline which has some good story to it (Especially when Onslaught shoots Rampage in the back making it look like Prime did it) Other than that i think it captures his attitude/look well from G1 and IDW.

Hopefully magic square releases their version soon, this one looks great but I love the g1 car mode more. I'm still waiting on a proper wheeljack, soundwave and jazz

I think I mis-transformed this guy when I rotated the head and waist around 360 degrees per the review. It could just be me though, I did ride a shorter bus to school than most kids.

If Iron Factory released the MTMTY characters and renditions (yes DJD... but it's not enough and they weren't the main characters) I would be all over them but they aren't so I'm not. I also like this company but not the character interpretations they are releasing. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.

I have felt this way about IF for a while now. Their Decepticons are about the only figures I collect and it is very few at best as their designs are mostly a miss for me. I feel like we have moved past the chunky clunky that IF seems to hold on to.
@doubleclutch73404 жыл бұрын
Nice figure with crazy articulation that I have come to expect from IronFactory. However, to say he is supposed to be a rendition of Cliffjumper? No. I do not get that at all. His head is the only Cliffjumper vibe, the rest is Brawn/Outback just colored red.
@roonis4182 жыл бұрын
well they never repainted this into bumblebee. at least not yet.

I don't know, obviously it's not a bad figure, but I can't get "Cliffjumper" out of it.

The head and feet look like Cliffjumper to me, and though the chest is his hood and not his roof it gives him a similar look.
