With the TOW-2B, It's actually possible to bypass it, and also, the max intercept velocity is 700 m/s, meaning if you can get the MIM-146 to its max speed, it can bypass it, this is also possible with the BMP-100s, 9M117 Bastion, but they need to accelerate first.

Nope, I tested it. Radar Station, from the start of the lake to the end of the lake. The distance was around 900-1000 meters. Both APS, drozd and iron fist can intercept ATGMs from BMP-100 and T-62. And for top-attack TOW, also nope.

To be fair the droze was the first ever made APS back in the 70s I'll give that to the soviets. But the iron fist is a very new APS design, kinda of a unfair comparison.

Do you think there is a optimal placement for iron fists? ( I know they protect all around ) would putting them at the very front limit the splash damage the vehicle suffers when a projectile is destroyed mid air?

I think on the very top would be best, since it will be able to see all around. But if there is a suicidal infantryman with an rpg 29, it might not see them if they go right up against the tank

@@jakfjfrgnei that's a very good point, though I noticed one thing today while playing with iron fists, that is , even if the view is being obstructed by lets say a turret, it still fires the projectile and intercepts the incoming projectile, not sure if this is intended but if it is then I suppose it doesn't matter

i think iron fist also stops kinetic projectiles, i don’t remember fully but i think i was shot at once and the iron fist stopped a round. maybe it was HEAT but idk

drozd is good for 1v1s since you get more of them iron fist is good for stuff like the dustbowl city where tanks are claustrophobic in shtora is good if the enemy is adats/russian barrel launched atgm/tow happy

The TOW 2 ATGM explodes with direct impact wile the TOW 2B OTA ATGM explodes within proximity of the target always from the top

When I played engineer I used to stay inside the tank engine and place the Iron fist behind the turret (exactly on top of the engine) This would prevent any IFV from trying to destroy the APS with an automatic cannon or being destroyed by more powerful ATGM The tank practically had infinite APS, since when the APS ammunition ran out, I simply took it off and put it back on again

And I could also fix any part of the tank while inside the engine, that is, infinite APS + auto repair This was annoying for infantry players, as their RPG's had no effect

But now in the new update this will no longer be possible, since to fix most things you have to stay outside the tank, and apparently the devs are thinking about putting limited placeables (so I can't spam APS)

Me and my friends also did something like this. I called it Pocket Engie (Just like Pocket Medic) and to fix outer-parts, we just place the seat under engine hatch, so we can pop out and repair tracks.

Yes, HMG (No joke, you can kill tanks with Dshk and M2. It's very risky though)
