Fantastic theory! This makes a lot of sense and it’s hard to believe that Iron Gwazi/Twisted Tiger could’ve been thought up of and worked on since 2015!

As excited as I am this, I do think they missed out on an opportunity to keep this as a double tracked roller coaster. For one thing it would've been the first one built by RMC, they could've kept the lion/tiger theming and imagine how cool the trains could've looked if they were themed to both of those animals. Never the less, this was a clever theme to a reptile, the train looks spectacular and I can't wait for the health crisis to end so this coaster can start a new life.

I believe the naming issue came up as Iron Gwazi was supposed to use the Twisted Tiger name, but then BG realized they cannot afford the RMC and other additions at the time. They then purchased some SRII's and scrambled to theme them. Tigris was most likely going to be the name of a kiddie ride loosely themed to (what would've been) Twisted Tiger, and Uproar would've been the name of an SRII or a flat ride from the original plan.

Steel Vengeance was a two year project (fall 2016 - spring 2018) for construction, but the plans were probably in motion a year or so before that. Regardless, it's possible that iron Gwazi was in development before Zadra. Nice video!

Also RMC said that SteVe was a 2 year project, as in 2016 and 2017 were needing for construction, planning started in 2015. Since Busch had plans for the Gwazi plot, it would be unlikely they worked with RMC until 2017. Zadra was announced in 2017, so Zadra was either planed at the same time or before.

Because that's what Busch parks are, It's not Six Flags. Themeing and the integration with the animals in the park is what makes the Busch parks stand out from other parks besides its coaster lineup.

@@cawilliams188 I agree. Time Traveler crushes Cobra's Curse. I swear I try to give it another chance every time I visit BGT, but it is so underwhelming, I feel Cobra's Curse is trash. I'm not lying when I say 80% of my rides on CC end up with me facing backward and no spinning of the car whatsoever. It is easily my least favorite coaster at BGT and even though it's my home park and i'm a pass holder, I have no desire to ride it ever again.

So here's something interesting. It is said that Gwazi is a mythical creature that has the head of a tiger, but the body of a lion... But who said that? Busch did. See, everywhere I look I cannot find a single source to link this name to anything in history before Busch, nothing. Which makes sense because at IAAPA, when asked about the gator theme keeping the Gwazi name, the speaker admitted that Gwazi was just a name they made up, so they decided to just use it again. So that's one mystery solved. Gwazi seems to be nothing more than marketing using a fake story, and actually has nothing to do with lions or tigers

I absolutely love your videos! From what I've heard, Untamed has got it's last track adjustment in 2016. And it opened in the summer of 2019. So maybe that's been the case for both coasters in this video. Who knows!

They also made cobras curse in 2016, that had money to make that and Tigris. I think Schilke needed to make a design that would be a hit to the public or GP. Zadra being across the Atlantic would make it hard for the GP to have even heard the name. Busch Gardens wanted an original ride however so he made this to resemble the hit Zadra in Energylandia and bring it to the US.

I still think that they should have kept it as a dueling coaster with 2 different layouts that would interact with each other almost the whole time. It may not have been able to be as tall as it is now but imo, it could have been so much better. But in another note, it does seem like it may be the best hybrid out there.

This kinda makes sense, just the only problem is Busch Gardens had released plans for Gwazi's plot, these plans called for the ride to be completely demolished for a new shop, restaurant, and new rides. The theme is actually supposed to be the tiger won the battle against the lion, however was wounded, allowing the gator to attack, the ride os the gator attacking the tiger, hence the death roll.

Now whenever I think of iron gwazi I always think that the crocodile is kinda the next evolution of the predator, like the lion and the tiger are dangerous but crocodiles are absolute apex predators, like the animal used almost shows the intensity and thrill of the rides

I think the only hole in your theory is Cobras Curse, which opened in 2016 and cost more then what Iron Gwazi probably cost. Cause if they didn’t have enough money for it in 2016 then why would they still add cobras curse.

Not true as Zadra originally was going to have a wooden lift structure but it fell over during construction so they swapped it to a metal one.

That first inversion on gwazi goes completely around whereas Zadra stops in the middle and goes back the original direction.

Totally agree how plausible it is that it was designed first or at least the same time with a long term vision of stylistically how they want their rides to go, but I'm really not convinced they couldn't afford it and that's the reason, BG parks were the main breadwinner for SEAS during the blackfish fallout and have always been solvent financially. Zadra is ground up and part of the Vekoma deal, and went up so quick even after the storm damage perhaps it didn't need many of US RMC crew on job and could sub contract from blueprints, maybe RMCs conversation order book was just full from 2016 until end of 2018 and they have limited number of workers experienced in conversation?, and Tigris wasn't a last minute thought....my understanding is they ordered three sky rocket 2s to get a deal and the first opened in 2015...just something to think about

I agree! Also, can we discuss the similarities between Tigris and Tempesto (at BGW)? They are almost the same coaster, but Tempesto opened in 2015. Historically, there have been a lot of "sister coasters" between BGT and BGW. Sheikra and Griffen, Loch Ness and Python, etc. I think that Tigris was planned to be part of BGT for a while. Then with both Cobra's Curse and Tigris being added between 2016 and 2019 and there's a new coaster at both Seaworld Orlando (Icebreaker) and BGW opening this year, I doubt Iron Gwazi was put on hold because of funds.

Intamin is still my favorite manufacturer..they push it..2 things i realized about i305 lift hill..is how B&M & RMC took elements from..the lift hill spine that is part of the foundation which. B&M does on their gigas & RMC using Intamin's minimalist support scheme ..like on Gwazi, Goliath & Zandra

R u Cray Usually when a park wants a certain theme they trademark several names at a time. For instance Cheetah Hunt was trademarked alongside Chetaka... the same for Fury 325 and Centurion. When they chose the Tigris name, they don’t want to use the other names because they reference a tiger and they don’t want another tiger theme attraction.
