Funnily enough I think metal does attract quieter, more introspective people. Certainly the case with me - the aggression of the music acts as a kind of release, particularly in a live environment. When I'm stressed out, nothing beats a bit of thrash to calm me down!

The guy is Mick Wall, probably one of the best metal journalists ever. He wrote for a magazine in the late 70's called "Sounds". Sounds was the premier voice for the new, harder music coming out of Britain at that time. They championed bands like Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon, Samson, and Diamond Head, so Wall knew the Maiden guys very well. Infact, Geoff Barton (the founder of "Kerrang!", where Wall also wrote), who also wrote for Sounds, is credited with coming up with the term "New Wave of British Heavy Metal" in an article in Sounds in 1979.

Cool how they donated the proceeds of running free to an anti-heroin charity. Never knew that til I saw this, something that's never been mentioned. Guess for them growing up in East London, they would have seen a fair bit of that sorta thing, so it would have been an issue close to their hearts. Funnily enough, this was a few months prior to the famous Grange Hill Zammo-heroin storyline.

Essa entrevista é de 1985, ano em que o Maiden tocou pela 1ª vez no Rock In Rio, provavelmente alguém deu à ele uma camisa do Flamengo e ele, amamnte do futebol gostou e usou. Nessa época o Eddie ainda não era mascote do Vasco (se não me engano) e se fosse, o Harris também não faria a menor idéia. Tem uma foto dele de 1992 onde ele usa uma camisa do Palmeiras também.
